@Madmarx

I definitely don't mean to suggest you shouldn't offer feedback or that your suggestion was unreasonable.

I just know I wouldn't like to hear suggestions I'm "com[ing] up with a viable story to distract from your true intentions" that might suggest you think there's some underhand agenda. :)
To me, I couldn’t make any sense of “the story” which left me unable to rule out any possibilities... and, admittedly, jmo has left me a bit jaded, something/someone else I can’t make any sense of...

Regardless, good luck in the tourney, I hope you win! 🙂

And when one is unable to rule out any possibilities, the most likely answer is the conspiracy theory of the mods wanting a specific player to win...who's Trumpesque now?

I am confident webDip appreciates your efforts...

Now perhaps this thread can return to the tournament, we’ll see...

Rumor has it MM has volunteered to run thd next Champions League.

That said, let"s put this back on track with some statistics. Half of the games of the final have now started. That is, half of the players started their games. About a auarter has finished. Solo rate is still 33% - which probably should be considered an improvement as people play more difficult powers.

I didn't see him as calling people liars, unless I missed something. He seems to be saying that if you are in a position of power, you have to be whiter than white, or you may invite criticism. He also praises people for working hard to deliver a quality product. Both points I agree with.

Reminder that all round 2 games must be finished by Thursday, October 17 at 7 PM central US time. As was the case for some in round 1, failure to finish all three of your games will result in a score of 0.

In case of a tie in round 2, shouldn't the first tie-breaker be to play one more game with the 7th power?

If there's a tie for podium positions, there will be one game for each player using the seventh country they have not yet played. Ties beyond there will be figured by... well, idk lol.

Ties will just be ties for those finishing outside the podium.

Could not have said it better myself, clearly, thanks Scarabus! Hey, where were you during the last World Cup Finals? 😉

Congrats on your MaccCon victory!

Playing my games today. Let's see if Russia decides to be gentle.

Russia game was going well. Was around 11 centers, and accidentally hit draw, and I'm on my phone so it got all buggered and drew the game on me when I was pretty sure I could solo.

Got frustrated and cancelled my other games, which pretty much means I'm out of this since I can't remake them. Not bothered.

Ouch. I was worried about pressing the Ready button by accident.

I got attacked by Italy as Austria right from the get-go. Then, as Italy, I moved to Piedmont and Apulia. Austria invaded Venice and Tyrolia right from the get-go as well. Just incredible

Idea for TT#2:

Everyone plays Austria 10 times. If Italy opens lepanto, then you get 0 points for a solo and -1 point for a non-solo. If Italy attacks you in 01, then you get 100 points for a solo and 0 points for a non-solo.

Sounds good :) Have you just had a really bad experience (or experiences) with Austria against the bots? Although I agree, if Italy attacks you straight off the bat in a bot game it is really hard to recover. Even just in normal gunboat it's really hard to recover.

Whoops. Accidentally duplicated my post while trying to edit out a typo. :-D Would a mod mind deleting this for me?

I had a bad experience as Turkey. Italy opened Lepanto and Russia moved fleet to Rum and build another fleet Sev. Nothing to do against 3.

Is there an example of someone who managed to solo as Austria in a bot game after being attacked by Italy in 01?
