Re: 1v1 Puzzles
I got linked to these a few days ago. Really enjoyed doing them, thanks RoganJosh! I made a puzzle of my own: You're play testing a new map. You're playing as Blue, it's spring, and you're 1 SC away from winning. Elsewhere on the map you can guarantee to gain a centre, but Red is attacking your two ...

Re: Introducing the first ever webDiplomacy Terminator Tournament!
Thanks for running the tournament bo, I had a blast! It was way more fun playing the bots with something on the line. They've got flaws, but the bots are really impressive to me. Chapeau to Scarabus for the highest total score across both rounds. Some unsolicited format thoughts, if this is done aga...

Re: Introducing the first ever webDiplomacy Terminator Tournament!
With one day to go, this tournament will be decided by the last game of TheGhostmaker. With a Russian solo yesterday, and an Austria set for at least a four way draw, a solo in the last game is sufficient. And what power is TGM playing? Based on his practice games ... France . I am biased, of cours...

Re: Announcing the 2020 Masters Tournament
...7 games and 43 contestants, where you play ... each other participant once. There's no tournament design that achieves this, unfortunately. You need 49 players, and 8 games. See table I in. @Madmarx I definitely don't mean to suggest you shouldn't offer feedback or that your suggestion was unreasonable. I just know I wouldn't like to hear suggestions I'm "com[ing] up with a viable story to distract from your true intentions" that might suggest you think there's some underhand agenda. :)

Re: Introducing the first ever webDiplomacy Terminator Tournament!
Due to a slight structural change in the tournament bracket, there will be 22 players moving on to round 2. Final scores from round 1 will be posted tomorrow and invites to begin round 2 will be given out as well. ...I can’t help but view “the bracket story” as hilariously absurd! I'm sorry to hear...

Re: Bot game stalled
Is there any way of setting up a new game in the same position? E.g. using some throwaway human accounts, and then replacing Germany and England with bots?

Re: Introducing the first ever webDiplomacy Terminator Tournament!
mr. smith, tbh, I think you are out of luck. yeah i think i can write this one off lol BEST case i'm in a 3 way tie for the last spot with xorxes / TGM i think... :( Yeah, if I vote draw now, by my calculation you drop to 21st, I'd be 20th and xorxes is 19th (assuming my most recent Ghostrating fro...

Re: Introducing the first ever webDiplomacy Terminator Tournament!
Sure, but the new games must be the ones that started later, no?
Anyway, I agree with RoganJosh above, so I'm pretty sure I've got it right. It would be really nice for me if England would kill France in this goddam game:

Re: Introducing the first ever webDiplomacy Terminator Tournament!
So it will be the 3 highest games by ID that count?
Also, wow, that's a huge advantage to those players who get to effectively enter twice! I feel bad for whoever ends up 21st and missing out because of this. Or is there a compensating rule to qualify anyone who would make it without the bonus games?

Re: Introducing the first ever webDiplomacy Terminator Tournament!
I was trying to work out where I stood in the rankings, it seems like some players have played more than three games? Why is that, are they just playing round 2 ahead of time?
