the british should re-invade
They're a bit busy and distracted...
Tis true. The entire Brexit scenario was created with the specific intention of giving us an excuse to politely decline all exciting foreign invitations, be they to go head to head with China, or join the Yanks on an expedition to Persia, or whatever. For the next few years we are doing the diplomatic equivalent of washing our hair ;)
Oh well in that case it sounds like it's going quite well ;)

I think Hong Kong should declare independence from China.

The US is, of course, already involved there. Whether directly or indirectly, providing support for protesters in terms of training and equipment.

I can't recall the names of the institute, but it says it is for democracy and freedom, while ignoring US allies like Saudi Arabia, and fomenting revolt in enemy nations...

Hi,

I read a lot about Trump however our freedom is being fought on the streets of Hong Kong. Yes I believe so.

For the sceptics, let's see. China is the number one economy in the world. Sorry my American friends but you are number two. You will have to live with this. The influence of Chinese economy is now immense.

Militarily the USA is still world number one but a war nearby Chinese shores will result in America loosing. American generals have been saying so for years now.

But the thing become scarier politically. The Chinese politburo has no counterweight. It reigns supreme in China. Trump maybe president but courts, senators and newspapers can stop him. Nothing like that in China.

So as the relative power of the West is fading, the East is rising. What would not be a bad thing except that it is rising particularly in the hands of a few Chinese men. A big part of the future will be decided by those men, for they are all men. And a lot of our collective freedom too.

So my question, are you concerned about what is going on in Hong Kong?
