Yes indeed. My grandfather’s nemesis over two campaigns (he was on the American side in North Africa and in Normandy); the Desert Fox is it.

The actual term I believe is General Field Marshal, plus the inferior ranks were some form of general, so all if these are covered under the “yes”

That sounds very reasonable. I think that the "color photograph question" was helpful in narrowing down the dates this person lived; we have got that pretty narrowed down by now.

A clarification because I don’t want this game to turn on this: there are one or more photos of this person online that purport to be original color photographs. I can’t verify if all of them are; at least one on google that was supposedly an original color was actually colorized. It seems likely based on a few facts that at least some color photos of this person exist, but I do not have the ability or capability to authenticate each picture.
