Yes it is possible to change the code to tally it by variant, but no it's probably not going to get done anytime soon.
Where’s ghug when you’re looking to cash in a favor...

Can games played also be separated out for each variant (relatively easily)?

For example, I can look back at my own history and see that my April GvI rating was based on a total of 24 games played, but I’m not even going to try to do that for anyone else, especially those that have played hundreds of 1v1 games...
Probably the best way to do this as of right now is to use the new advanced search. This is the Search games option under the search tab. You can enter someone's username and one of the columns will show what variant each game is. You will still have to count stuff up, but at least it is all in a nice table.

Anyway continue on your 1v1 whatever, I'm just gonna be bitter towards anyone who dropped out for non legitimate reasons
I expect that real life will prevent me from joining a press game for the duration of 2019 and then some, if that is a non-legitimate reason then we have different definitions, and obviously I’m sticking with mine...

Once the GvI finals are over I might considered joining the AvF Champions League if someone runs that this October or November, assuming real life is much more under control at that point, otherwise I’ll be on a break...

As much as I love a good show...

1v1 ratings have been updated.

Turns out I was using an outdated algorithm. Thank you RoganJosh for pointing out the discrepancy, and thank you ghug for pointing me in the right direction. They now show the correct rating for each player as well as the ratings broken down by category.

While not exactly a bug, RoganJosh has received 250 points for pointing out the error.

It’s not like I “pulled a Durga” and quit in the third round of a tournament because multiple opponents were attacking me and I was about to be defeated by legitimate gameplay...
Uh, or confirmed metagaming :eyeroll: I've been eliminated and defeated legitimately in a lot of tournaments/tournament games and haven't quit. That was **not** legitimate gameplay

I had to ask a few people to replace your position so while I'm glad your substitute has thanked you, it didn't help me :)

Webdiplomacy is nymph site, it charms people so they can't go.
If they can quit halfway through a tournament because they're "busy" then they can go
Well aren’t you sweet for noticing!

It’s not like I “pulled a Durga” and quit in the third round of a tournament because multiple opponents were attacking me and I was about to be defeated by legitimate gameplay...

Yes, I bowed out of the ODC, I took my name off the list before the tournament started but when you PM’d me about joining right before you were to set up games The Diplomacy Nymphs tricked me into making a poor decision that I quickly regretted, but my replacement has thanked me more than once for the quality position I left for him in both games... My opponents deserved better than I could give them at that time (and at this time still)...

Anyway, yes, I fully expected to take at least a six month break from webDip, but that was based on my honest belief that, since I had never played the GvI variant before hearing of and joining the GvI tournament, I would have been eliminated well before now. So, until xor “81%” xes (aka “162 Proof”) kicks my ass in the finals, I will use the 10 or 15 minutes I spend hanging out in my four year old’s room each night (in the dark while he falls asleep) entering some 1v1 “gunboat” orders, more time than I wanted to spend around here but only one last match to go and then we’ll all be free...

What happened to the FvA and GvI sub-ratings? Did ghug do a shitty job setting those up so it was easiest to simply cut bait?
You're supposed to be gone for like at least 4 more months. Please leave (:

The changes are from March's numbers I think. Which aren't published.

That is what I would assume, but it doesn't really work out when you compare with the January 19 rating. Perhaps that is because it compares with another, unpublished version that was made in the meantime ?

Great : thanks!

Can anybody explain to me what the 'ChangeRank', 'ChangeGames' and 'ChangeGhostRating' are / how they are calculated?
I always thought ChangeRank showed how much you changed from your previous rank.. ChangeGames should show how many games were added since the previous ranking? ChangeGhostRating shows how much you've gained/lost in terms of pure rating.

I was excited about this until I went and checked my rating...

I feel like I've done really well lately! Can't wait to see the improvement! Checks my rating.

Oh.

Something is weird with the 1v1 ratings. Did you change the algorithm or something?

Look at quarryman, he didn't play a single game but still gained 21 pts.

It's being implemented constantly, but I didn't pull any data for games that end in April.
