I enjoyed it! Thank you Spartaculous. Give me an hour to collect my thoughts and come up with an equally inspired, if non-vegetable, pick.

The Liz Truss Lettuce

Okay that was a very good pick, but also a very hard target to guess using the parameters of this game.

Ok after a brief internet search, I'll throw in my free guess as such:

The Thousand-Year Rose, in Hildesheim, Germany
If you had clicked on the "Individual plants" category on the very bottom of this rose's Wikipedia page, you likely would have won: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Individual_plants

Guess: The Liz Truss Lettuce.
Aha, this is probably it.
Came across this last night and didn't think it was notable enough to guess. But I don't think there is any other possibility. It may be the only specific European vegetable with its own Wikipedia page (to the extent that is being used here).
I think the Liz Truss lettuce is notable. Thirty years from now, if someone asks who was Liz Truss, the one-sentence answer will be "Queen Elizabeth II immediately died and then she got outlasted by a head of iceberg lettuce". It definitely helped shape public opinion of Truss.

Your question is good.

I'm absolutely stumped tbh.
I'm surprised I stumped you, given the fact you asked a question in a previous round of Twenty Questions comparing a former Tory PM to a green vegetable.

Congratulations! Just as the Liz Truss lettuce outlasted Liz Truss, cdngooner has outlasted the competition in this battle of wits (not wilts).

Although *technically* Britain is no longer part of the EU thus not exactly European, though I'm just being pedantic there.
Is Switzerland not European? Norway? Ukraine? etc.

The EU is not the same as Europe.

I still can't believe a cabbage in her likeness outlived her time in office.

I think an unqualified "no" to the fruit question means this is not a tomato or a cucumber.

I'm thinking potato, but I can't think of any famous potatoes.
Mr. Potato Head.
Is he real though?
He’s real to me :(
