Car Warranty

#1 Post by dargorygel » Mon Mar 29, 2021 1:34 am

Just so that you know... IF i am driving, and see you pulled over to the side of the road with car trouble, I will NOT be offering you help. You have had SEVERAL opportunities to purchase an Extended Car Warranty!

You reap what you sow.

That's a bit harsh, helping Pilgrims in strife can be spiritually rewarding. Like the wonderful old Chap with the Green MG Coupe with V8 Triumph engine with a dicky ignition coil broken down at McLaren Vale whom I assisted with loan of 7/16 inch ring/open end spanner last year.
Do you really expect a chap with a 1970's MG Coupe with V8 Triumph engine to still have a warranty from Bwitish Leyland for roadside service in Australia in 2020?

That's fine for the webDip mods and their chauffeur driven limousine lifestyle, but most of the hoi polloi that make up the membership don't have extended cars

Well if Das Urkomisch Ausglassen Dargorygel is being chauffeur'd about and around in a combine harvester reaping & sewing up fashionable Togs then he clearly needs a roadside service, or several. I've been told, well, ahem, it's about Omnipotent Zultar's new Rolls Royce Corniche, wink, wink, nudge, nudge. Someone gave Maniac the keys thinking he was the new chauffeur & he drove Omnipotent Zultar's younger sister to the Theatre or a Restaurant, or Art Gallery & apparently, ahem, the young lady was quite smitten by Maniac's dashing good looks & slightly mis~shapen head. When I asked which of Omnipotent Zultar's many younger sisters had gone Daffy Romantically about Maniac I was informed it's the one with the remarkable deformity and impressive ability to mimic bird calls, and I thought well, odder couples have made it to the altar.

Dear Octavious, do you mean the Greek οι πολλοί (the many)?

The great unwashed, aye. It's one of quite a few Grecian terms that have found a home in English.

Untermenschen is another term of endearment that could be used...

No, that's never entered the lingo and has a rather different meaning, and regardless I'd be inclined to avoid any terminology associated with Nazi high command

But they do do things differently Down Under...
