A new player with 100

could play the top six players on the site seven times and solo all seven. If the entry were only 5

, he would win 30

per game, or 210

, putting him at a total of 310

.
Another new player with 100

could play one game against horrible competition, ending with a two-way draw (including him). If the entry were 100

, he would end with 350

.
Under the points system, the second player would be "ranked" higher than the first by virtue of having more points (350

vs. 310

). Most people would consider the first player to have accomplished more.
Under the GR system, the first player would have a meteoric rise up the ranks, while the second player's gain would be negligible.
It's not necessarily true that people who have played more games have more points. It depends on how many points are at stake in the games, and what the results were.
