Hate to post this here but...
There was another web diplomacy site that looked almost identical to this one but had a beige background and it was basically beta testing new maps. It had Germany 1648, Shogun and a fantasy map with hobbits and pirates and many other variants, anyway I was wondering if anyone had the web address or knows if it is still around. I deleted my bookmark for it unfortunately. Sorry for being so vague but any help would be appreciated.

Help! I have a game glitch.
My game message meant to another player posted in the Global messages for everyone to see. Now my browser is not letting me open the links to the player in-messaging. Is there a way to delete this message sent at 03:18 AM? My game ID # is 95030. Thanks!

@ SMC
Good to hear someone else on here enjoys McCarthy! How was Child of God? It sounded really interesting. You should also check out The Sunset Limited, it was a play he wrote (or "novel in dramatic form, whichever you prefer) that was adapted into a short movie on HBO which was also fantastic.

Vonnegut is also great, can't believe I forgot to mention him. Bradbury is also really good. Lovecraft is cool for what ti is.

@ THM

No, Hollywood isn't that dumb. They'll pick someone decent for Clark. Even Hollywood has more self respect than to cast a douchebag like Zac Efron as John Clark.

I really hope they make a Red Storm Rising movie. It would be completely irrelevant to modern day society but it could be so awesome if it was done well.

@iMurk, thanks for the suggestion. Child of God was great but very disturbing. Necrophilia is going to be disturbing, I guess. I read it in the back of a car driving between London and Paris (I live in the states). It is a quick read, but a good read. I will have to check out the HBO movie.

HP lovecraft is good but he has, possibly, the worst dialogue I have ever read from a mainstream author.

You know, I've never read and know nothing of Lovecraft except for the adjective in his honor Lovecraftian...

So, assuming the stories match the meaning of that adjective...

Very messed up or unreal or odd?

What is he and his stories like?

Am I the only one who thinks the real world is far more interesting than anything anyone could ever dream up?

I'll take something like Desmond Seward's "Hundred Years' War" over any Tolkein fantasy or Shakespeare play any day.
iMurk789 (100 D)

Lovecraft is definitely not as talented as some other authors. I just really like cheesy scifi/fantasy/horror stories. His stories aren't messed up, they are just very outlandish and pulpy. But while the content is always cheesy, he always describes things in a really eloquent, interesting way.

@Tolstoy, I think the real world is very interesting and regularly read nonfiction, not as much as fiction but 1:5, Nonfiction:Fiction. However, literature is an art form. I think real life is beautiful but I still enjoy looking at a Thomas Hart benton painting. http://www.jocomuseum.org/mpeet/thb-persephone.html

I read a great deal of non-fiction, too. Especially history, or travelogue/reportage such as from Robert Kaplan.

Like movies, books can be impacted by outside events... first adult book you read by yourself instead of having it read to you for instance... in that vein: 5...

Call of the Wild: Jack London
End of Eternity: Asaac Asimov (Not his best, just my first of his that opened me up to a new Genre)
Early Autumn: Robert B. Parker
The Hobbit: JRR Tolkien
Of Mice and Men: John Steinbeck

Mujus, What's wrong with the punctuation of the title? It seems fine to refer to the nest as a plural possessive. Or is it something else?

Only one exclamation point for non-submitted orders?
This is in an ongoing, non-anon game. I've taken a small screen cap. Any clues why there's only one instead of two exclamation point?

Postal Diplomacy, try again?
I'm about to wrap up my current ten-game stint and would be willing to give "postal" diplomacy another go, with it being my only press game while in progress so I could give it the attention it deserves. WTA, anon or non-anon, don't care the pot size. More info inside.
Draug, if there's interest enough, will you host again?

Unread message @ No in-game messaging
I just received a message in a No in-game messaging gunboat game.
It's listed as Unread global messages. But I cannot see it nor open it.

How do you guys feel about bronies?
For those who don't know, a brony is a teenager or adult, usually male, who watches the show My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. Yes I'm serious. I'm curious as to what the people here think of bronies. And for the record, yes I am a brony.

Just read on Wikipedia (font of all knowledge)
That they are going to produce a movie/tv-series based on Bernard Cornwell's novel, 'Azincourt'. ABOUT BLOODY TIME!!!! I only hope they deign to look at producing his Arthurian novels as well.
