Could be that England doesn't have much of a window to play a game in tonight and thinks that even an imperfect game is better than no game at all. Could also be that he simply doesn't know how the draw/pause thing works. Let's not be so quick to judge. It's only a gunboat, after all.

Well that was England's first game on the site, it is very possible he doesn't know how the Draw,cancel, pause system works and as it was a gunboat had no way to find out.

Also @bencarthy I would prefer England to someone who quits when they are down...

Why? I had dinner to eat and that wasn't going anywhere. Principally because of poor Italian play. Turkey is strong and you're busy running around trying to chop me up. That went well, didn't it?

I was Turkey. France and I were the only ones to hit cancel in 1901. A draw would be an unfair stat and hurt Ghost Rating (for those who care about such things). The only reason I undrew was because I didn't want England to get a draw after he had all but been eliminated.

Well you did well in a section of the board that was actually active, so well done. England's conduct (esp. after France walked out) was the problem.

People are not required to draw or cancel in light of a CD, and most of the time it doesn't happen (at least in my experience) despite people's efforts. We've all been there, and we've all come out on both sides of it. Coming to the forum is extremely bad form and is against the rules. Please do not do it again.

"if you fail to show you have to pay a penalty at least." - what penalty? if the player doesn't care about the game then they don't care about point or their record (in fact that don't even have more than 100 so it doesn't matter if the lose some as they will be topped up again)

further as this was a live game it's not surprising that a player missed the start.

if anyone wants to help run a live server, i'm happy to work with them. I have aldready developed a third-party IM client which integrates webdiplomacy...
