England: We had an interesting thing going on with a potential Western Triple, but Italy's smoking-out of it doomed it almost as much as Germany's inability to communicate. I didn't take any glee in stabbing you, I just figured that it was better to go with Italy who was already at war and needed at least my passive support than you, who would always been a threat. Sorry it didn't work out, you played well. (with the exception of that one botched move, but you knew about that even then)
Germany: I'm not sure if this guy is going to play anymore, but if he does see this.... three word responses badly spelled don't make for people wanting to work with you. I was almost(ALMOST!) ashamed of how much I manipulated you during the game to do dirty work for me... without your contributions, England would have taken a lot longer, and might have held me off.
Italy, my erstwhile domestic partner. We worked together very well until I tried to go for a win. I still wish I'd have been able to pull it off.... I was hoping that you and Turkey had too much bad blood to turn against me that quickly (figured I might get at least another turn before that happened). Good game, hope you don't hold my final run against me
Austria: I didn't really interact with you (I did try to feel you out as a potential ally if Italy turned hostile, but never got anything back). You tried to hold back the Italians, but it didn't work out.
Russia: You started strong, but your CD in the middle really screwed over my long term plans with Italy and Turkey.... Turkey was able to get fairly fricking huge with minimal work.
Turkey: You played very well, and had some extremely lucky breaks. And you were able to put aside your major distrust for Italy to come in for the draw.
As for me, the western triple was proposed early on, which I went along with verbally (because I'm not interested in a E/G alliance against me), but slow-walked anything against Italy, who I had been in fairly productive conversations with. Germany looked to be the soft spot in the E/G/F, and with Italy yelling about the Western Triple, it was a dead letter. England and I started chopping up Germany. I did forsee that once Germany was gone, at the very least, I'd have been at the mercy of England, because I'd never be allowed to build up a fleet capable of challenging him as an ally. So before Germany was gone, I gambled and attacked England. Luckily, it worked out, but it was definitely a throw of the dice. Once England and Germany were gone, and Austria had been eliminated, it just came down to seeing if Italy and Turkey could secure a stalemate line before I could grab 18.. I fell one short.
I enjoyed the game. :)
