Mods please investigate
I reported the following game http://webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=33245#gamePanel about two weeks ago and there has been no response. Apologies if this is. In the wrong place but if someone could point me in the right direction I would be most grateful.

Cheers

What's the big deal?
I just don't 'get it.' Why would someone dedicate their life to the study of philosophy? e.g. obiwanobiwan

And to anyone else reading:

Does that argument make sense to YOU...Miro might reject it out of hand just to prolong this and have a game of it, but to the rest--does my argument there hold with you?
obiwanobiwan (248 D)

And where's Zaza, this whole thing started because he wanted to know why we debated philosophy, and now he's not even showed up lol...
Miyazaki (0 DX)

Hi obiwanobiwan. Can you respond to me please?
Miro Klose (595 D)
19 Aug 10 UTC
@obiwan

What nonsense man...first almost all writers write books to get money. Even if they write books, because they care what happens to them after they have been bought, their philosophical ideas were not created because somebody should here them.
Philosophical ideas are created because of a force in us to understand, to confirm our knowledge, to find an answer. Then you may write a book or talk to someone.
Philosophy is not "marketdriven", it is driven by ones own inner force to understand the world.

Second, yes i have found my answers about "God or "Why are we here?" or "What's the Greatest Good?' or "How Should I Live My Life", so why are you hitting on me because of that? What is your problem with my "no..."? Only because you don´t get it i have to do it too?

Third, are we talking about "reading" are you kidding me? Your childish behavior sucks obiwan! We were talking about philosophical concepts, but suddenly you only ment "the verb read" by yor quote "And I said that philosophical ideas are created with the intent to spawn actions..".

And last, what is your problem? I made it clear: There are no ultimate answers, everybody gives meaning themselves (Life, good, beautiful). It´s my opinion, and unless you come up with your strange "tree" or "perfection" and your shameless missuse of Shakespeare, i stay with it.

So i hope you think better next time before you write such nonsense.

im just skipping to the parts where you insult each other and not really reading the arguments in a coherent manner
Jamiet99uk (808 D)

Miro - I'm pretty sure Obiwan was not 'hitting on you'. I don't think you're his type.
obiwanobiwan (248 D)

OK, hold on, Miyazaki, let me truge through the previous sewage--er, posts--and find your question.

Miro--you're idiocy and failure to listen to a word I say, let alone your twisting of my words hen you choose to youse them, has officially maxed out my patience.

And so, as much as I've already expressed my contempt for "agreeing to disagree," I will do something similar.

I will agree to IGNORE.

You have not heard me out, Miro--and now I will hear you no longer.

Hurl any insult at me you wish, you may prance about and consider yourself the "winner" if it will feed your ill-gotten ego, you may call me a Catholic and a Christian and a deist and anything else I've told you a hundred times over I am not, and you may claim as often as you like I don't udnerstand the authors and concepts you yourself failt to grasp.

I quit, Mrio--you'll have to flame and troll along with someone else, because I quit.

When you learn to respect your fellow man, or when you learn to understand philosophy, or when you even learn to actually listen to an argument and actually hear what the other person is aying rather than repeat your own dogma over and over whilst twisting the words of your fellow debater--maybe I'll take you seriously.

Until then you're a joke to me, and not a very funny one at that, merely an annoyance and a troll, and there are better minds--really ANY mind--to debate with on the site.

Farewell, Miro.

P.S...I was not "hitting on you"...trust me, you're NOT my type, like Jamiet99uk says.

I'm not the dating kind, and a guy...and anyway, I'd prefer to date someone, someday, who has more of a mind and an open-mindedness than the tea bag I've just steeped for my tea (good tea, too...far more enjoyable than the entire...can't even call it a debate, folks--what DO you call three datys of attempting to respond with logic and a strucutred argument to only get dogma and slander from a brick wall? Stupidity and Futility, I suppose...)

LOL svenson...well, at least SOMOENE was entertained by this pissing contest!

I just looked again, Miyazaki, and can't find your post/question...maybe it was deleted or something, I don't know, but I've just looked through all three pages and can't find it...

It IS late (or, rather, early, at a quarter to 4 in the morning here) so maybe I'm just fuzzy-headed...

But anyway, fi you want, just ask your question again, and I'll happily answer.
Jamiet99uk (808 D)

No, you're right. There are no previous posts in this thread from Miyazaki.
Miro Klose (595 D)

@obiwan

And again you play the "Diva"...nobody understands you, somebody dares to have a different opinion than yours, of course then he is a troll.

Obiwan your permanent selfportrayal and stupid long post suck. The longer they are the more stupid crap comes out. You have nothing but sarcasm and lies for other people, when they quote you, suddenly everything was ment in a total different way.
I don´t care if you ignore me, you have nothing important to say.
Jamiet99uk (808 D)
19 Aug 10 UTC
He's got more to say than you, Miro, and you are being a troll.

The problem is that you clearly have some comprehension problems.
Miro Klose (595 D)
19 Aug 10 UTC
Indeed he has more to, say look at his long posts, but does it have to be meaningless and childish? How old is he, 17 or so?
orathaic (1009 D(B))
19 Aug 10 UTC
So Miro, care to contribute to the Opening post? (instead of blocking what other people are saying)

For you, why would someone dedicate their life to philosophy?
Jamiet99uk (808 D)
19 Aug 10 UTC
Don't bother, orathaic. He's not worth wasting your time over.
Miro Klose (595 D)
19 Aug 10 UTC
You should ask someone who dedicates his life to philosophy, i don´t.
But i am very interested in it, learned about many philosophers, logic and especially combined it with psychology. Today psychology and philosophy go hand in hand, a Epistemology is unthinkable without the research about the humans brain by psychologists. So research could be a reason to dedicate to philosophy, gaining new knowledge or falsifying old "beliefs".
The "ability of moral thinking and behavior" can be located in the brain (i think it is in the frontal cortex?). So psychology brougth big parts of metaphysics "down to earth".

My special interested in philosophy is to see pholosophical theories be tested by new methods. What can be falsifyied, what do the results really tell us, or did the tests miss the aim.

Miro Klose (595 D)

Big questions for me are:
How does moral behiavior evolve? What influences and changes your taste of beauty?
What are scientist researching and what effect has it on society?

Calling Female Diplomats
Greetings. I recently got into a discussion with a friend about why Diplomacy (and many other strategy games, for that matter) are primarily played by men. I have yet to meet another female who actively plays this game other than myself, and would like to hear your thoughts on the subject. Men are welcome to post as well.

How about a nice game of chess?

The rules:
Post your move in standard chess notation. You must wait at least three moves before posting again(ie: if you move as white, someone else has to move as white before you can move again). Illegal moves don't count; stupid ones do
