I'm not gonna comment on specifics since I'm in the game, but I hope this thread last long enough where I can say that what diplomat1824 did really wasn't that ridiculous. Just look a little closer and you'll see it was a sound opening.

Actually, I hope this thread falls off quick, since it is in incredibly poor taste. Stalking a player and displaying his moves in an active game on the forum for ridicule is a reprehensible thing to do.

Since this is probably the first time it has ever happened I don't think anything should happen to Sicarius, but if ever there was a ban-able offense here it is. This is quite a vicious thing to do.

Hey guys, I have a rules question nicely illustrated by that bizzare support into Kiel (see above).

What would have happened, in that move, if England had moved North Sea-Holland? In my understanding, Germany's move to Holland would bounce, but the fleet could not stay in Kiel, because Berlin's move to Kiel has support, so the fleet would have to retreat somewhere else. Is that right? and in that case, would it retreat from Kiel, or from Holland?

You can't displace your own units. Everything would hold.

well i agree and disagree Invictus, i disagree- how can supporting yourself into kiel at the starters gun be of any use? but its not stupid as such, just pointless, this is far more insane

well, to be fair to Sicarius, who frankly I bash quite quite frequently, Diplomat1824 had stated repeatedly in this forum that one of his express purposes was to try to make Sicarius look foolish (which he failed miserably at - many others have done a better job). He even started a thread called 'Thats it Sicarius' , the sole purpose of which was to try to get Sicarius to stop posting.

So if Sicarius has a 'thing' for Diplomat, its not uncalled for.

Supporting the move to Kiel is only superficially different from Munich holding, which isn't a dumb move.

diplomat1824's thread about Sicarius was wrong too, but this is a little different because it came from Sicarius hunting for a seemingly moronic move dipmlomat1824 made and then posting it for the sole intent of mocking him.

The other thread was about ideology, if I remember correctly, and although also in poor taste, is a very different thing from nakedly insulting diplomat1824 as a player. Especially in an ONGOING GAME!

Italy was by far the inferior opening. diplomat's wasn't terrible. The support was superfluous, but I mean, if Munich is going to hold... why not?

The real sad thing is that I think diplomat's reputation earned him the hostility of every one of his neighbours, even Austria! He might be better off dropping that account and starting a new one.

That said, commenting on on-going games is distasteful, so let's let this thread drop to the bottom.
