No, you were correct, a bug is an unintended result. I think Kestas knew what he was doing, it's not a bug, it's a feature :-)

Coming from a developer, it is a bug. The intended result was NOT to rob someone of well earned points so, while it works as designed (and was a design decision), it is also a bug because, as designed, it doesn't provide the desired result. this is actually a simple fix. I don't know why he opted to run with integers or why he even precomputes the points. If he wanted to run with integers, all he'd have to do is multiply by the number of SCs (in this case 18 for the winner) then divide by the total SCs in play.

If things quiet down this summer, I'm still offering my services up to help with the development, especially some of the niggling little things that would take 10 minutes here and there to fix.

I'm up for doing that as well Draug, but unfortunately the current version is still being held locally by Kestas as he finishes off!

But you're right - the more I think about it, the more I realize that simply passing floats and converting at the end would help immensely. It's essentially the Superman III/Office Space issue, but magnified. Can you imagine how much money they would have stolen with a dropped percentage as high as 30% ? :-)

As a programmer, I don't believe in bugs. In all seriousness, there is bad coding with unintended consequences, there's bad specs which didn't account for certain combinations of data which cause unintended consequences,etc.
