if i'm {convoying into rome from tunis via tyrrhenian sea} with {support from tuscany and ven}, and [rome is moving to the tyrrhenian sea] with [support from the ionian sea] what is the outcome?

No Press 22 - Kicked Off

New "No Press" game started. For those who have not played before, this is a variant of the normal game but where talking between players or on the global channel is banned. There are 2 spare places open to the general public.

So, joined League B Game 1 as per invited- how do leagues WORK?

I mean, do we have a regular season and playoffs, or do we work on a point system or what?

You will play four games with the same players, the computer will add the random element of country assignment. At the end of the games, the top players will be promoted and the lowest players demoted...

The scoring method for the league is not the same as the pot... The Ghostmaker is very kindly going to keep the league scores for this. He can provide details.

I see........... top players- so is there a point system, like 7 points for first, 6 for second, etc., over the games, then you tally it up?

And top players- so how many move on?

It is a basic WTA scoring system, but with the number of SCs acting as a tie-breaker.

The leagues are three up/three down.

What is the plan in terms of 'promotion/demotion'? I understand that League A has more seasoned veterans, but I thought the initial pools were to be considered equal, thus would decide who entered Division I or DII or DIII, rather than a seeded system of the 'better players' being in League A.

Obiwan: - There are two leagues currently running. We tried to get names about three weeks ago, but only had enough for two Leagues at the time. Sarge correctly points out that we tried to set it up as League A having the best players (based on win percentages with a qualification of 5 wins or more). We were successful in getting the best players in League A, so it was seeded i guess.

Xgongiveit2ya55: - League A was set up and has two games running. Game one is in 1904, and Game 2 was set up when Game A reached 1904. Basically, it cuts the time taken to play the games, so you always have two games running at the same time.

Obiwan (and Sarge): - The promotion relegation will be decided by points based on WTA scoring, with the number of SCs being the tie breaker.

There will be a champion in League A, and 2,3,4 will be safe. 5,6 and 7th place will be relegated to League B, where the top three will be promoted.

Brent: You can collect names for a third league - You only need seven players to play four games.

Swearing on the forum

I'm against any blanket ban on swearing but could we perhaps try to avoid it in the first post of a new topic? Bear in mind that anyone coming to this site for the first time will see the forum page and I'm not sure it sends out the right message.

Ok I've seen a few game variants like the "Winner Take All" and league matches. Are all these special request games that need to go through Kestas? I don't see any options for variants, including less then 7 players.

Kestas - please ban these morons - part two

mapleleafrulz has taken over a cd in one of my games and has posted a global message in a pathetic attempt to paint me as a multi. This is totally malicious; well beyond the childish moniker previously used by this individual.
As this idiot, and mapleleafisiacnt, are likely the same idiot and logging on from a country other than Canada, just ban him/her and every other user from the IP.
The really sad thing about all of this is that people with whom I have played in many games are actually questioning my integrity.
As far as my original thread goes, the inmates have taken over the asylum.
They are proud of it.
Pathetic.
How about a response?

Grudgematch Variant

What we need is a game variant to solve the question that has been gnawing at us:
Who is better, Sicarius or Mapleleaf?

Only 2 rules:
1. Sicarius and Mapleleaf are at war no-matter-what
2. All other players must play in an un-biased manner

Hopefully they will both accept the challenge

No orders to submit in this phase, but...

The game "Diplo2009" just advanced, and now it is the retreat phase of Autumn 1906. None of my units were displaced, but the game tab still shows up at the top of my screen with a red X next to it, and the game page itself shows a red X next to my name. Where orders would be submitted, it says, "You have no orders to submit in this phase."

Does this mean the game will wait 24 hours before it advances again just because I can't submit (and finalize) any orders that would change this red X to a green check mark?

How are point accumulated?

I am raising a true question, no accusation, no polemics.
I am playing a game where one player (Qing Shi Hwang) has jumped from 100 points to 1341 points overnight (currently he has invested all his pot in a joinable game).
The interesting issue comes if you take a look at his profile: only three survivals, the biggest of which is with 1 SC in 352 pot game, the other two survivals being in games with pots less or equal to 70 points.
Where do the 1341 points come from?

I suspect a multi-acct or metagame.

In my game, run to the hills.

Player 1: Qin Shi Huang who came in and played Turkey who was in CD (left with 1 SC in Munich)
Player 2: venek who played Russia

Reason my suspicion were raised
1. QSH came in to play turkey (left with 1 SC not in home territory)
2. Came in entered orders, 6 min later, venek entered his orders
3. Russia had 1 unit in Berlin, Turkey had 1 unit in Munich. Somehow Berlin managed to move into Munich
4. Looking at QSH record, he has played 79 games of which he has survived 3 and won none. He however has 210 points. This suggests he takes part solely in CD games for the benefit of a group of people to use as a dummy account.

Venek or QSH, could you kindly answer the allegations?

Kestasjk, could you please look into this? I understand you're not in development anymore, are we working on the code to build moderators?

It was meant to be a draw between Italy & Turkey, but Turkey (me) won when Norway wasn't dislodged even though it was attacked 2-1 and was trying to move out.

New, Very low pot Winner takes all game

Hey everyone, i just made a very low pot Winner-takes-all game for newer players who want to experience the higher intensity game. Its called Rider pt. 2 after the g-unit song lol but yah just come and join its only 7 points to join.

Quick game during a lazy sunday

So a bit more notice this time... If anyone is around Sunday for a quick turnover game, I would be keen to set one up from around 10:30 - 11:00 BST(British Summer Time).
