Ahhh... It could have been a five-way draw so easily. But no, Russia (indianajones) realized he didn't have the biggest balls in the game and left just when the stalemate lines were forming! All that work for nothing.

As Italy, I did pretty well. I played a game of cat and mouse with Austria (Lando Calrissian) and outsmarted him three or four times between 1904 and 1906. As France (SplitDiplomat) was closing in from the west, I stopped him in west Med. I did make a few mistakes, but nothing that would make him go through. But Russia had to go and ruin everything.

Was Turkey.

France played well and would probably have soloed sooner or later anyway. Fair play to Austria for carrying on to the bitter end.

For the record, I was sitting for Lando, something unexpected came up for him, and I'm no gunboater, so don't go thinking you outsmarted Lando, that wouldn't have happened! :-P

YadHoGrojaUL, I attacked you in Bulgaria one round too far. I should have started moving my units north already. But I still think we would have held if Russia didn't CD.

MadMarx, thanks for letting me know who I played against. Outsmarting the best player on the entire site is way better in my opinion!

Wrong, I'm below average at gunboat, especially when being handed a tricky situation... My first order was to destroy Vienna, not sure that was smart, but I was thrown into the fire on my cell phone and played 'til the bitter end...

Zmaj, per my post as Lando above, we did not have the stalemate line, largely due to your lack of moving north sooner, which may be the whole reason indianajones left, the game was lost at the point he left... Not to burst your bubble or anything! :-P

It's fun to joke around an all, but, seriously, you'd learn something by looking at the stalemate line map I posted a link to and look back at this game to see how you might have done things differently to stop the solo... Or you can focus on outsmarting a below average gunboater while losing a WTA game and learn nothing, your choice...

PS - I have a ton to learn myself, of course, I'll be looking back at the game too, trying to figure out the best approach to securing that stalemate line, it was a difficult task, especially in a live gunboat game...

I missed the Spring 1903 phase as Germany and never recovered. Found myself facing a strong France closing quickly and never stood a chance.
