In a WTA gunboat where there is a player who is in a very dominant position that guarantees them the draw or a solo if two or three powers can't figure out the stalemate positions and there is a power who has one or two SCs left and can be easily taken out without affecting stalemate position, what is the appropriate signal to send in game?

Anyone up for one? I want to coordinate one, but using the regular live game thread appears not to work. I might plan one for tonight at around 11 eastern. Is anyone interested?
I already tried this on a Normal Map with just Star Trek...and was eliminated first (damn you, double-crossing Vulcans, how dare yu stab me, even if it WAS the logical thing to do!) but it seemed to go well: how about a World match (low bet, as it's World and it can be more accessible that way) with races from different Sci-Fi series? BORG vs. DALEKS! KLINGON EMPIRE vs. GALACTIC EMPIRE! CYBERMEN vs. CYLONS! FEDERATION vs. BABYLON 5 PEOPLE (yeah, don't knwo their name....!)
I think Holmes meant to ask how many Ds are needed to go up a rank on the profile page ("political puppet", "experienced", "diplomat" etc). I don't know, but I do know it goes by available points, not total points.
My rank, in the past five minutes, just went from Experienced to 'member' not sure why it changed again, my position (3760 / 7248 (top 52%)) is still the same tho
Hmm yes "ü" is a german letter and i just found the name funny when i registered :)) Looking back i have to say that i better would have named me GOD here too.
The way I see it, if you play with a higher percentage of players...say you are a political puppet and you play MadMarx and god forbid you BEAT him. You're rank will shoot pretty high assuming you play with other skilled players as well. That's what I think.
Sandgoose, what you are looking for is the Ghost Rating system, which is done, but isn't officially on the site (http://tournaments.webdiplomacy.net/ then "The Ghost-Rating List").
They come out monthly (though it's been late recently due to TGM's hiatus), and if you've played for an entire month with a game that ended, you'll get on the list.
Speaking of TGM and GR, can one of the mods or a volunteer take over for TGM? His work is tremendous, and I would like to see continued and posted regularly.
After some searching through the source, I found that user.php defines the rankings as follows: Top 5% (by points available) - Diplomat Top 10% - Mastermind Top 20% - Pro Top 50% - Experienced Top 90% - Member Top 100% - Casual player Casual player apparently never comes up, causing it to default to political puppet.
Looking at people's profiles, it seems the ranking system only applies to people with 100 available or more, and gives the rank as political puppet otherwise.
Dharma, there's no set point number you can reach to achieve a "Mastermind" ranking, for example, since the amount of points is always changing relative to the number of players on the site. As more players join and more players get refunded points to return to 100, the total number of points available on the site increases, which is why the rankings are determined by percentages.
Thank you guys, that bit aught to be added to the FAQ ! <3 AND, I'd correct the Puppet & Casual player ratings, so as to make some guys 'feel better' :)
Dharm: you should check out the ghost ratings page - it's the metric by which more experienced players rate themselves. Most people don't put a lot of stock in your points or your "rank." Take Draugnar, for instance... one of the best players on the site but he never has more than 400 or so at any given moment.
In fact, moderators, isn't it time that TGM's list is linked officially? Not suggesting we do away with the system already in place, but since so many put their stock in GR it may be a good idea to introduce it as an unofficial corollary.
The idea is that there is a pattern or set our rules by which every number is assigned another number and if you continue to apply this pattern you will eventually reach the number 4. For example: 20 is 6, 6 is 3, 3 is 5, 5 is 4, and 4 is 4, thus 4 is universal. The object of the puzzle is to figure out the pattern. Reply with any number and I will show how it becomes 4. If you figure it out, please post an example to show you know it instead of posting the answer.
