Favorite SSBB Character and Stage:
The question pretty much sums it up.

I would have to go with Final Destination with no items, I think that is the true measure of skill. As for character I am divided, I like Pit because he is simple, and has ridiculous projectiles, but he sucks at finishing. So it's either Pit or Link for me.

Zealotry?
There was a recent comment about the site being highjacked by religious zealots that I thought was pretty funny and decided to indulge the idea. Since I'm probably one of the "zealots".

9 seconds on easy. USA

4 / 74 / 406 are the records on this PC.
Couldn't believe my luck when I got that easy one.
Oh and I'm from the UK in case you didn't know!

I'm not certain about my exact best times ever, but these should be close enough.

Beginner: 5 seconds
Intermediate: 55 seconds
Expert: 162 seconds

I've reset a time or two over the many years I've played so I've possibly done better but don't know for sure. I have been accused of photoshopping the "Fastest Mine Sweepers" screen shot I posted once. Of course that would actually be a harder thing for me to do, but whatever.

wtf is the olympics? lmao.

i used to be pretty good, i dont remember now though, i ditched my old comp
Chrispminis (916 D)

My beginner time is probably figle's intermediate time, my intermediate time is probably figle's expert time, and I've never solved an expert one in full. =(

I like to think I have skills in other areas.
I've never tried on medium or expert. Always gave up for a couple of days after failing twice or three times.
@TheGhostmaker

Excuse me, but I take offense at that slight. I take great pride in my Minesweeping prowess. I know that I've at least finished the expert level in slightly more than 3 minutes. I don't see you posting a time.

Perhaps a webdiplomacy Minesweeper tournament is in order...

Here's a slightly amusing trailer for Minesweeper - The Movie that I found awhile ago: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LHY8NKj3RKs

111 Seconds on Expert, USA, running Vista.

I mention my operating system, because I swear it was easier on XP. I had 99 Seconds on my old desktop, but it took ages to get to 111 on Vista.
TheGhostmaker (1545 D)

CD, I wasn't being serious (hence the whole post dedicated to adding a ":P".

I'm not posting a time because I don't play minesweeper often, and haven't played it on this computer.
Really? I can get better times on Vista than XP (or earlier systems)
orathaic (1009 D(B))
03 Mar 10 UTC
9 seconds oneasy, but i was cheating, on older versions of the game (i don't know about vista) the highscores were saved in plain text which could easily be edited - i spent months 'beating' my siblings high scores while they attemped to better my cheated score...
TGM: I wasn't serious either. This is a Minesweeper thread after all. I just don't like to use emoticons.
figlesquidge (2131 D)
03 Mar 10 UTC
Oh, I was serious - those are the times on my laptop. Saying that, I don't really play - if I'm bored on my PC I tend to start debugging stuff instead :/
Zybodia (355 D)
03 Mar 10 UTC
I have Linux now, so I don't play often, but on my old computer my scores were somewhere around 11/47/160
I think the world record for easy is somewhere around 2.6 sec. Anyone get closer than figle?

Minesweeper was quite amusing for a while some years ago - then I discovered fora!
tboin4 (100 D)
04 Mar 10 UTC
Aw, I thought I was going to be the fastest time. I don't spend much time on easy and intermediate. After I beat them I just kind of went to expert and played, but 7/48/114/USA. Dang you PyroMancer!
Let me look this up...7 seconds on easy. USA. No recorded times on intermediate and expert.
hellalt (70 D)

minesweeper is a fraud.
You may complete correct 99% of the board but usually the last set of blocks involves luck.
I used to play it during work (no idea about diplomacy back then) but stopped playing it due to that fact.
... (104 D)

Apparently, according to my scores, I've never played on beginner or intermediate on this computer.

But my expert score is 194 seconds.

I am from the USA.

@hellalt, at the expert setting yes, you get a lot of 50/50 shots, often one after another. I don't play much anymore but when I do I'm usually on a custom setting that is as large as it allows but with a similar percentage of mines to open spaces as the intermediate level.

Dear Newbie
My one piece of advice: Please consider where your enemy will retreat to when you attack him. If you take a worthless province, and he retreats to your SC during a build turn, your attack was really dumb. That is all.

How long do live games generally take
I am interested in playing a live game sometime, but I need to know how much time I will need to reserve for it. (I have 3 small Children, so time is at a premium). How long does an 'average' 5 or 10 min/phase live game last?
