I don't know about vapid, but I got dragged into the movie as well last night. I suppose it's no different than my enjoyment of Underworld for Kate Beckinsale in a leather body suit.

What's her face, Kristen Stewart is cute, but she's an awful actress and has no personality. Lol. But I refuse to see New Moon. I feel badly for all ye people who had to go lol

I got tricked into seeing part of the first one. Something is seriously effed up when the boy is prettier than the girl.

I was told i was going to the New Moon showing, until i pointed out that id rather have a hive of angry wasps in my pants than see it....it wasn't until all the wasps were accounted for that i was given a night in and the Mrs went and saw it on her own!

Those movies were written for 14 year old girls or people with the sexual identity of 14 year old girls. Anyone who enjoys them is basically a big immature failure.

@LanGaidin - The difference is... do you force your SO to join you at Underworld movies? My wife usually does something with her girlfriends when movies like that come along and I want to see them. And do you force her to go see them at the midnight preview showings? My wife did that too me with Titanic, but learned when she tried to get me to go to a second showing that I would force her to see Tomorrow Never Dies first. She decided to go to Titanic while I went to TND and never asked me to go see it again. That's when we started the tradition of trading off movie choices when we go out and both of us having veto power that allows us to go to a different movie if we have an absolute aversion to what the person wants to see.

It's good to go if it makes her happy. Giving is a big part of a relationship, and women don't like seeing movies alone (normally), and prefer holding a man's arm during the movie. It's just a nice thing to do.

@ag: That depends on what stage of the relationship you're in. If you two are just starting out, then you should try to avoid giving in for no cost as much as possible. Setting a precedent is important.

Ill have to agree with Onar on that one....

I've been married 20 years and that was 8 years into our marriage, so we don't feel the need to be together 24 hours a day or to have sex every weekend or any of the things young couples dating or newlyweds feel the need for.

Oh, and we use the veto sparingly... I've even seen a few movies I was tempted to veto, but ended up enjoying, namely Mama Mia. Although I must say James Bond ...er... Pierce Brosnan shouldn't sing.
