Destroy unit bug.
When I open the board, I get a pop-up which says "TypeError: this.Unit is undefined"
Then rather than "Update" and "Finalize", I have greyed out buttons which say "Save" and "Lock"
So I can't enter my destroy order.

Who else is watching South Park tonight?
Supposed to be about Japanese whaling. The preview was pretty funny, looks to be a big improvement on the last week's wrestling episode, which I found rather underwhelming.

Survival
Just a quick question. Have a look at this game: gameID=13498

Why do Italy and France finish as "survived" when they had no SC's left at the end of the game?

When did the message window stop putting linefeeds in the right places?
It used to be that you could read all of someones in-game message, but now, at least on my screen (1280x800 and using Firefox) the end of some lines of text aren't visible. Four or 5 characters can be lost.

Longest Diplomacy game
What's the longest game you've ever played? I'm currently in one (Robin hood Steal from the Russians Give to the aus) which is in Spring 1913 and has no signs of a quick finish if you want to check it out. Have any games you know of ever reached 1920?

Swine Flu
hey if you have anything to say about the swine flu,(h1n1), just post it here.

Get plenty of exercise because exercise helps build your immune system. Walk for at least hour a day, go for a swim, take the stairs instead of the elevator, etc.

Wash your hands often. If you can’t wash them, keep a bottle of antibacterial
stuff around. Wear a mask when out in public places and avoid going out in public as much as possible while the swine flu is spreading. Get lots of fresh air. Open windows whenever possible. Get plenty of rest. Try to eliminate as much stress from your life as you can.

OR …. You can take the doctor’s office approach. Think about it, when you go
for a shot, what do they do first? Clean your arm with alcohol.. Why? Because
alcohol kills germs. So…… I put on my mask, walk to the liquor store (exercise), I put lime in my Corona (fruit), celery in my Bloody Mary (veggies), drink on the bar patio (fresh air), get drunk, tell jokes, and laugh (eliminate stress) and then pass out (rest). The way I see it, if you keep your alcohol levels up flu germs can’t get you!!!!

I had it. It was not so bad. I am a 19 year old male in otherwise good health, but I found it no worse than the flu.

In Sweden, the state is paying for a nationwide vaccination program.
I guess I could go pick up my shot within a week or so.
If I elect to do it - which I havent decided about yet...

H1N1 is just another flu strain and one of many. Just that you young folks have not been exposed to this strain yet. People over forty and healthy have little to fear.
Jefferson (124 D)
26 Oct 09 UTC
The only thing I have to say is make sure you call it H1N1. Calling it the swine flu damages the pork industry more than you realize.
Sicarius (673 D)
27 Oct 09 UTC
I had it too. not even as bad as the more common strains of flu. I reccomend against vaccination, it has not had enough testing, and god knows if its bad for you, they whipped that shit up pretty quick.

I was amazed at how fast the vaccine was created as well. I guess calling the N1H1 strain a national emergency hypes fear levels and makes the pharmecutical companies rush...

I heard if you get it you can't eat bacon. And it will make your eyes fall out. So stay inside and barricade the doors against the hordes of the undead swine flu victims!

i agree with sicarius. i wont touch the vaccinations with a 10 foot pole (course, i guess thats why they manufacture the 11 footer). im just waiting for a terrible tragedy to come from the vaccines at some point like it horribly mixing wrong with a large portion of the population.

the only reason people are scared of it is because its so widespread and can kill infants and elderly. i just lock my sons in a sterile room. grandma is just screwed i guess. its a genuine epidemic but nothing like the black plague.

It's picked up the nickname of the media flu around these parts. The H1N1 virus hasn't even increased the prediction for flu-related deaths this year. 10s of thousands die every year from the flu, so this is just another strain making it's way around. Next year it'll be a different flu. Some years back it was avian flu. The media needed something to hype and they jumped on H1N1.

Obviously I'm trying to be as clean as I can. I do all the health conscious things as often as I can, as much to prevent flu or swine flu as it is to just keep me in good health. I'm 18, I don't need to be getting sick.

It's a load of govt propoganda- we had it in Australia first and the NORMAL flu kills HUNDREDS of times more people.
Get over it, lol

incorrect- tru ninja- it DOES NOT kill elderly really- it affects those with HEALTHY immune systems- do your research, the young and helathy have stronger immune systems and the virus tricks the body into doing its own dirty work- google it and see.
But its nothing really at all, unless you already have an illness or are in the teenage, or middle aged group

I had a friend die from it a few months ago. He was 29 yrs old with a wife and 3 kids, and a police officer. It killed him because it was coupled with another illness in his lungs. This is the most common reason for swine flu deaths. It's deadly when paired with another illness - especially respiratory. By itself it's not that special.

Yeah, H1N1 is a bunch of hoopla to help the media make more money by attracting attention and a way for the government to freak people out (gasp, Obama and Bush doing the same thing!?) and give another supposed reason for the government to have more control over things that are none of the government's business (i.e., healthcare/insurance).

Get enough sleep, eat right, exercise moderately, laugh a lot, and listen to good music. You'll decrease your corticosterone levels and boost your immune system that way.

And I just have to say that I'm happy I can't get swine flu from my breakfast cereal.
I had it. It really wasn't too bad, the only people who are in real danger (and getting killed by it) are people with prior breathing problems. The news guys are really hyping it up, that's for damn sure. It just clogs up your lungs for a few days. Mucinex worked the best for me. I've only gotten a fever 3 times in my life, and I've never had a body temp over 101.

I was just amazed at the fact here in the US the vaccine was produced in enough quantities and ready for distribution the day after clinical trials were done. I don't trust our government or pharmaceutical companies.

I checked the symptoms, and they are indencical to any bad flu. Even the health guy on ABC admitted to that. It is as lethal (or not) as any other bad flu, with underlying conditions, etc. being what makes the difference nowadays as to wether it is lethal or not. The only significant difference is that, people not having immunity to it, it can spread faster.
Also, why do people insist on sticking on the catalogue number as if someone might not know the common name for it?
In regards to the media, they like hyping scare stories because it improves ratings.

we have loads of kids away from school due to swine flu. we close the class down if more thasn15% have it. right now we have 2 classes down. wearing a mask does diddly if you are healthy however if you have it its polite to wear a mask to reduce the spread of airbourne flem.

2 of my kids are now over it and the 3rd has it now. At least, they exhibit the symptoms of influenza a. The pediatricians are not even testing anymore as it is cost-prohibitive. Really the kids have been ok - moderate fever, dry hacking cough and a headache. It is definitely not a 24 hour bug though. The first 2 kids were both down 4 solid days. The pediatrician did recommend using a nebulizer and prescribed xopenex to help with the persistent cough. It has seemed to help.
