Civil Disorder
I see many usernames in games with Civil Disorder next to them. What exactly does that mean? Did they leave the game? Do they not want to play anymore? How do you put yourself in Civil Disorder, if the latter is the case? Also, what would be the point of taking over a game when the country you are trying to take over is in Civil Disorder? Thank you for your time.

Playing record bug and auto-disbandments.
Once or twice I've ended up in a PPSC game wherein the last supply taken to form an 18-center empire is also my last supply center.

On the forum, I then see a message that says I survived until the end of the game, but "because this is a Winner-Takes-All game, [you] received no points." I think this shows up on my record as a Survived rather than as a Defeated, even though I was actually defeated in the last season. A problem?

I entered a move (Aegean Sea support hold Greece) and it didn't show on the map. It didn't effect me at all, but I could've lost Greece. Would a mod check and see? game ID inside.

I realize this is a long shot but I'll put this one out there.
I am playing a game called 15 minutes. The phase length was set at the minimum, which is 1 hour. But we all agreed to take 15 minutes per turn. Now three of the players has dropped out.

Saturday Live Game
Organizing a live game for this Saturday afternoon-evening. A cheap buy-in--probably about 5 points. I don't have any serious time constraints, so we can discuss a start time.

Short term games
It would be awesome if we could play games with shorter phases than an hour. I am playing one at the moment where we all agreed to put our moves in within 15 minutes. It worked well at first but then three players dropped out. No we have to wait an hour per turn. If the phases could be reduced to 15 or 20 minutes we would hadn't have to wait for two hours until they went CD. As it is a great game has been spoiled somewhat.

How will you vote in the forthcoming €uropean €lections?
As this is a pan European vote, please contribute from all over Europe :)
sceptic_ka (100 D)

I'm "wasting" my vote on the pirate party because all the real parties suck.
Here's why:
CDU because they are:
- pro internet censorship
- pro lets spy on everyone
- against equal rights for gays
- pro mandatory military service (only for men!!!)
- enjoy shoving a shitload of everyones tax money up the state churches' asses (roughly 20.000.000.000€ per year )
- want to ban PC games like Counterstrike
and a lot more...

FDP:
- because they'll argee with everything the CDU want to get a couple of ministers
- tax cuts for the rich (current upper tax rate is 44%, there were times when this was over 60)
- want to increase tuition fees
- want to screw up our health care system
- oppose minim wage (some people here are only getting paid 3.30€/h)

SPD:
- want to ban paintball, Counterstrike and more
- Internet censorship
- try to be everything to everyone and fail
- don't enjoy shoving a shitload of everones tax money up the state churches' asses but still do it.

Linke:
- unrealistic foreign policy
- unrealistic tax policy
- jump on every bandwagon
- want to shove a shitload of money up unemployed peoples asses.

Grüne (greens):
- inconsistent environmental policies (want to reduce CO2 emissions yet oppose new nuclear power plants)
- are pro conservation yet also support bio farms which require 20-60% more farmland.
- are pro "let's feed the 3rd world" yet opposed to genetically modifying food.
- also want to ban counterstrike like games and lan parties.
- want to let Turkey in to EU

@ sceptic ka: based on your post, if I shared your opinions I would probably vote SPD, since the reasons for not agreeing with them seem to be linked with national policies and are possibly less relevant in relation with the role of MEPs (as compared e.g. with your disagreement with the Greens, where at least some of the issues you don't agree with are actually discussed/decided in the European Parliament). Still, Pirate Party can be an interesting choice! ;)
sceptic_ka (100 D)

@DarioD: if I had to vote for one of the five big parties then it probably would be the SPD or at least a strategic against the CDU.
I was actually hoping to provoke some people with my direct comments.

I am totally against the Pirate Party. Copyright is how musicians and writers make a living.

I would have no idea how to vote here in the UK if I had one:

My view is fairly simple. I don't want to leave the EU for purely economic reasons. I don't want to have anything to do with any part the EU other than the free market for a two main reasons:

1. The Common Agricultural Policy is morally repugnant.
2. The EU's political system is awful, removing sovereignty and charging huge amounts to do it.
OMGNSO (415 D)
22 May 09 UTC
The problem is that if you join the EU for the market, you stay for the Bullshit. I would stay in if I had power because I would avoid all the Bullshit, but anyone with real power is a politician and therefore eats and drinks Bullshit so they lap it up. Thats why I would leave the EU. Of course it would never happen.

I'm in favour of withdrawal from the EU and reviving the trade links we used to have with the Commonwealth.

I will be voting in the west mids and have a dilemma. I would normally vote Labour but think that a big protest against big parties would shake the system up and generally make politics more accountable. Last time in my area there was 3 tories, 2 labour, 1 lib and 1 UKIP. BNP came 5th with 7.5% of the vote nd greens came in 6th with 5.1%. I'm worried that a protest vote in this arae would open the door to the BNP which would sicken me. What should I do? PS this isn't an arguemnet about policies, just tactics.
Captain Dave (113 D)
22 May 09 UTC
@ Maniac, if you want to tactical vote against the BNP, probably your best bet is either UKIP or the Greens, maybe Lib Dem. Sadly I doubt there will be much you can do to stop them.

@Ghost, I presume this means you'll be voting Tory?
@Hereward, I presume this means you'll be voting UKIP? To that I have to add one of the Pub Landlord's catchphrases, "Shame on you!"

@sceptic, I have a friend who would naturally vote CDU, but for the C part - he's not a Christian, and therefore he does not want a Christian party representing him! Due to the way German politics is, I think he normally ends up voting SPD, which I personally find a little odd. But then German politics is a strange beast, given how ridiculously easy it is to have a hung parliament as there is currently. In fact, it almost seems set up to deliberately create a hung parliament.

Personally, I will be voting for the Conservatives. I am pretty much a Tory through and through (should that be hyphenated?), although I am definitely a lot less right wing than your typical Tory voter. They just happen to be the Party that most corresponds to my views. Plus I live in South East England, so you can't really expect anything else!

@ Submariner: the worst possible. Even my British euroskeptic friends find them ridiculous...

@ Ghostmaker: the EU system is actually removing less sovreignty than most parties would make you believe. What happens in most cases is that national governments agree to unpopular measures, then come back home and say "Brussels made us do it". At the same time, when a popular measure is taken "in Brussels", they will present it as "a great victory of our national government in defending our national interests against the perfid Eurocrats". Unfortunately, this seem to happen with most governments in most EU country.
I kind of agree on at least some aspects of the CAP, though.
Hereward77 (930 D)
23 May 09 UTC
@ Captain Dave. No I'm not voting UKIP, as far as I know they want out of Europe, not in with the Commonwealth. I just think it's silly Canadians and Australians find it harder to get into the UK than Europeans when in truth I feel I have far more in common with the Commonwealthers.
Maniac (184 D(B))
23 May 09 UTC
@Hereward the commonwealth isn't just Canada and Australia. Do you really have more in common with Brunei Darussalam, Kiribati and Namibia than France, Poland and Italy?
Submariner (111 D)
23 May 09 UTC
Hereward, I think our immigration policies to former white commonwealth countries make migration into the UK easier than migration in the other direction. Just as Auustralia has a Prime Minister who is fluent in mandarin and sees their future firml;y anchored in their nearest region, so the UK has and has to take advantage of the fact that we are happilly located in Europe, the World's largest economy.
Submariner (111 D)
23 May 09 UTC
@DarioD. My friend is running as one of their candidates and I can't bring myself to tell him what I thionk of the party... The articlae about them in this weeks Economist sums it up pretty welll... A pan-European party with different policies designed to appeal to the whatever brand of Euro scepticism is at large in each country!
Hereward77 (930 D)
23 May 09 UTC
@ Maniac. Those countries were just an example. The same extends to members of those nations yes. As I recall Britain hasn't had centuries of war with Namibia, Kiribati or Brunei Darussalam. Geographical proximity is not a recipe for similarity or common interest.

@Submariner. While I concede that it's easier to get into the UK for Commonwealthers than it is for us to get into their countries (particularly the 'white' ones as you mentioned), the thing I was primarily lamenting was precisely the attitude you just displayed - The nearest region is by default the place we should be looking. I would rather base it on common history, ideals and culture. I know people will now start pointing out the great cultural variance in the Commonwealth, but there are a shared set of values (which is why it exists at all).

Since we don't have a system here to show any preference for any country in phpDip, does anything feel that they're being assigned a specific country too frequently as compared to any others?

We are waiting on one player to unpause. The game was forced to be paused because one of the players was suspended. This player has not logged in since it was forced to be paused and the phases are 18 hours. He would be in CD if the game had not been paused. Is there anyway to unpause it without him?

Should we do EGS for League games? or a bad idea because we're playing again soon?

Also, is trim101 our game starter? RL has kept him very busy, so I'm not sure game 2 will start anytime soon.
