(I shouldn't be so cynical really, the points and first incarnation had a pretty good correlation.)

If I remember correctly, MadMarx was always better in the games I played with him. He deserves better rating.

I have been crushed in turn by MarekP, Rait and MadMarx. I'd call it an even draw between the 3 except that MadMarx just talks and talks until you find yourself agreeing with him. Never let it be said that the pure volume of conversation isn't as important as the content.

(not that the content wasn't good as well, the volume was just the difference)

I remember once that Madmarx managed to convince me to allow him to attack and take over my centres as some sort of 'testing mechanism'. It was both brilliant yet simultaneously horrifying.

aoe3rules, I'm in too many games right now as it is, but given the right circumstances, which most any diplomacy game I'm in usually provides, I'd bet on me out-volumizing (I really do miss Great Moments in Presidential Speeches) you... though mainly because I enjoy the added pressure of the possibility of money changing hands...

I remember something about Madmarx plotting to 'pretendattack' me in order to change the behaviour of Edi Birsan and concivince him to spare my life or something. He also wanted to test others reactions, and see 'how it would work out'. And then it turned into real attacking, and I was too drawn in and could barely resist...

Suffice to say, I survived that game, but with the Italian peninsula covered in armies that were not Italian. And even that could barely stop Mardmax.

No, but I did go on to use a couple deliberate NMRs in another game as a tactic. It worked very well.

laurence, the party trick was acquiring the points, more than half of them I fell into bass ackwards, but still kind of a neat thing to have done (regardless of how much or little it represents skill level, that wasn't the point)...

How could this thread NOT be in fun when MarekP is about to run laps around me points-wise?!?! I thought it was kind of funny when I noticed I was ahead of him by 4 points, that's roughly 0.04% of my total, statistically equivalent, i.e. I absolutely do not own him... Anyway, I was trying to be funny, though maybe it was just funny to me, which I am somewhat used to!! ;-)

It was meant in good fun... I'm the kind of guy that increases the insults/jokes/name-calling the more I get to know a person... I wouldn't tell a stranger to go to hell, but my best friend, I'd tell him that without thinking twice about it!! It's kind of like giving someone a funny nickname, it's a sign of respect and a compliment to tease someone... Am I making any sense here??

PS - loa, seriously, it has NOTHING to do with points, I completely agree with Ghosty, that's part of what makes it funny, at least to me, I'm teasing MarekP about absolutely nothing that means anything significant... I appreciate your comments very much, Marek, I don't only get paranoid in a game of diplomcay, I was a bit paranoid I had offended you after loa's comments, which was the last thing I would have wanted to do... I look forward to our next game together, it will be an enjoyable challenge, as usual.

It is people like you who try and place their moral bounderies in other people's lives and it is people like you who ruin a group's reputation with your blunt and often forceful presentation of your life style. You are also the kind of person that gets offended when you dont understand something(in this case a joke) and it is people like you who anger me the most in life.
