Anglo-German Alliance: The Anlgo-Saxon

I usually find that I am too paranoid of German fleets to make this one work very well. Does this one work well for anyone?

Austro-Russian Alliance: The Peppermint

It has been a long time since I have seen one of these, They seem to almost never form at the beginning of the game. It seems the Juggernaut overshadows this potent alliance. I have in the past seen Russia and Austria block Turkey in and neutralize him, in advance of turning on Germany and Italy. Then once the two of them had established dominance with their armies the rest of the map was left trying to figure out how to keep one of them from eliminating Turkey and soloing.

In DSS - points are split equally when the game draws.

In SoS - points are split depending on how many centres you own when the game draws.

Is there any difference for GR, in the amount of SC you own when you draw or is it just about points

SoS is, as of yet, not included in GR. Only DSS games are. That will not be permanent, but the finer details of how to implement SoS in GR have not yet been worked out.

GR (or any replacement system) will always follow the same incentives as points, although the pot size won't matter.

So inevitably SoS games will have a prorated proportion of GR based on SC count at draw

It will always be "maximise your points in this game to maximise your rating".

What I do like, is there is now incentive to stopping someone from getting to large to make a solo run, as opposed to waiting till the last minute to start to form the stalemate line

Wether Dyager likes it or not, the two way draw is more enticing as well

Two way draws are equal in DSS and SoS (half the points). The difference is that in SoS you can have a better score than a two way draw by getting to 17 without killing anyone.

This encourages running for solos - because keeping minor powers around is a good way to aim for a solo, and because you never have to choose between killing someone (which isn't part of a the solo goal) or taking more centres (which is).

So, HR said SoS is not included in GR as of yet, so besides the points it's like a unrated game?

Not exactly. They'll (all) become rated at a later date. Possibly Jan 1st.

Please keep a form of PPSC scoring

The new scoring systems are forms of winner takes all

I'm passionate about keeping a form of ppsc, that allows self interest in the desire to achieve wins, but also allows the winner to reward a loyal ally with points

Affluenza teen flees probation

Ethan Couch, the teen that got probation after killing 4 and injuring more while drunk under age driving has fled after a video showing him violating probation by drinking alcohol. Mother is believed to have helped him.

Autro-German Alliance: The Anschluss

I can think of two times, at least, when this alliance has really killed me (or could have). Still though, I have no idea how to arrange this one and hold it together. What are your thoughts/ experiences about this particular alliance?

World Diplomacy borders updated

For some time now, we've had some border issues with our copy of World Diplomacy. vDip has had them fixed for some time - so Oli from vDip very kindly put together an update for us that fixes the world borders.

Quick question

Concerning cutting support.

If unit A is supporting unit B to hold, and unit B is supporting unit C to hold. If unit X attacks unit B will it cut the support for unit C even though B is supported?
