Yeah, I thought they sounded cool. I was surprised I hadn't heard of them before today.

One of my friends, a veteran traveler, had recommended to me that were I to visit Holland, I should do a bike tour. I can see why. I would very much like to see one of these streets.

That's awesome! Wish they added some in Toronto and the GTA. Too bad cycling is largely ignored here :(

Have you left your home in the last 3 years? The number of cyclists in toronto is growing exponentially.

Growing yes, but the city has a LOT to go.

Long way to go yes. But to say it's ignored is being out of touch m a huge percentage of the population is passionate about it. We're starting to see improvements but nothing like Montreal which has these bike only areas.

I live in the Netherlands, but i have never seen one of those either. Those Fietsstraten arent in the centers of the Citty. I think they are mainly in Nature area's.

Amsterdam is awesome. i have a buddy who works at the Hague. want to visit there again

To be honest, OP's link isn't very helpful IMO, but I googled.
As a Dutch guy, I'll say that I've never seen a fietsstraat and don't really see the appeal because apparently cars are allowed on them as well.
Moreover, if it ain't broken, don't fix it.
We have cycling paths wherever you'd reasonably expect them, in enough cases completely seperate from the roads, and otherwise large enough to not make you feel like it was a close call every time a car drives by, as I'd be thinking if I were on a bike in, say, London. Quite frankly I think this works better than fietsstraten, which can be used by cars as well.
