Official Announcement
Dear webDippers,
Draugnar and I are proud to announce that we managed to hack the site, ban the current regime and turned some enlightened members into mods.
We are looking into the cases of other previously banned players to see which were banned unjustly. We're not making any major policy changes, but we're ending the previous tyranny.
Enjoy your stay!

2015 MLB Preview and Predictions
It's that time of year again. Buy yourself some peanuts, some crackerjacks...maybe some syringes and performance-enhancing drugs, and get ready for another baseball season! My predictions for the standings, 10 playoff teams, playoff picks, World Series winner and then 10 predictions for the season are below...add your own. :)

The Greatest People in History Tournament
Now that nominations are in, it is time to decide who really was the greatest person form all of History. Will Ghengis Khan rise to conquer the bracket? Will Tolkien or the Beatles be the first Nominees to win two tournaments? Will Aristotle be proved wrong in his prediction that he will win? Or will a Wild Card take the whole tournament? Only one way to find out.

@KC I'm only half-joking ;) In our prep class for confirmation, we actually got handed out standard personality disorder forms and had to apply these to Jesus testament-wise. The point our preacher intended was to show how gr8 you can be nonetheless. What I intentionally retained was that Jesus was some kind of krellin-bo_sox(as imagined by krellin)-hybrid that has a foible for whores and drinks.

It's just a different way of reading the old book. You'd be amazed what you will find if you just applied conventional wisdom psychology to the new testament (disclaimer: you won't find an autistic genius as often reported) or political discourse stereotypes (the most hilarious would be US-American ones, but only because those who claim to be his most ardent followers would be the first to identify him as their societal scare crow). I won't push this argument further.

I was thinking about copy and pasting my pro-Locke sermons from before, but I concluded this experience is much more fun. Even for very faithful people, esp. if they want to believe AND think.

3. TP's vote doesn't count as he did not made clear for which Jesus he cast his vote. Jesus the Muslim, or Jesus the Christ. As was clear until now, the vote is about Jesus the Christ.

Uhh... do I have a "foible" (never seen that word used before) for "whores and drinks"...? I haven't been with that many girls and I've never hired anyone, and I don't drink all that much compared to any other college kid with a social life...

A bo_sox as imagined by krellin?

That makes me a 5'1", 90 pound skinny asshole with braces, buck teeth, and glasses the size of my kneecaps.

I would count an abstain as equally balanced preference. Therefore this needs to be clear.

Jesus. Not even close. Locke's ideas took root in two continents over 200 years. Jesus' actions, ideas, and followers influenced people in six continents for 2000 years.
(Btw, if you asked Locke if he was more significant than Jesus I think you'd have gotten assaulted.)

I hate to sound like a conservative, but to those arguing Locke influenced the American founding fathers: have no doubt that Jesus of Nazareth influenced them still more.
Octavious (2701 D)

Don't worry, Thucy, there is nothing at all that I could identify as particularly conservative in what you just said.
Thucydides (864 D(B))

Have you ever heard an American Christian speak on the topic of separation of church and state? Lol
Octavious (2701 D)
28 Feb 15 UTC
Indeed. They are, as you say, American Christians. Any political affiliation with the major American parties is coincidental and has nothing to do with the principles of conservatism aside from freedom of worship, which also happens to be a principle of all the main parties.

The Church of England over here claims it has little do do with politics, and is more or less successful, although it struggles to shake of the current public perception that it is pro-Labour.
Thucy - you're probably right. I just really want the prophets out because they're way too OP for this tournament, because nothing has shaped this world more than religion. Next go around of this I suggest that they be banned, and some clearer rules from the start.

My question though - are they really his ideas? Or they the ideas of people 300 years later who codefied them and attributed them to him?
KingCyrus (511 D)

I would be in favor of that, if it was started. They sort of are OP. Now if we had a "Greatest Religious Leader of All Time"...

Most historians acknowledge the time frame of within 60 years for all the books of the Bible, so definitely not 300 year later.

Napoleon. Just for the epic comeback he staged.

UK F2F Game
Would anyone be interested in a F2F game in England, sometime in the weeks following the 23rd of March?

Some of the mods were discussing trying to set one up, but obviously we'd need to know if there's enough interest. Where exactly it would be would depend on what's convenient for the people who express interest (and what locations turn out to be possible).

Extraneous Games
Is there a way to hide or remove games that I have been defeated in under the My Games column? It's kind of annoying to have games that you can't affect show up in my screen, and being reminded of a defeat every time I log on isn't fun, either.

Whatever happened to Draugnar?
Back when I used to be really active on this site, Draugnar was one of the most... distinctive personalities in the forum, despite the fact that I don't think I ever saw his points total at anything other than 100 for any period of time (which made a few people assume he was an entry-level noob, lol). Then he got banned, along with draugnar's_ghost, draugnar's_zombie, etc. Is he back under a different name? Is he gone? Sure he was kind of a douche, but man did he know how to troll.
