To Americans
Learn from this mistake. When given a chance to elect someone like Bernie again, do it. Don't go for the person that's a part of the establishment. It could've been Bernie getting ready for his victory speech now. You threw that chance away when you LET the establishment decide Bernie wouldn't win. Learn from this mistake so that you don't make it again. Better luck next time.

What do you all think about those exit polls released by politico? I think it is pretty positive for Trump.

Does anyone think it is positive for Clinton? I am honestly asking in the most non-partisan way I can.

Trumps policy on illegal immigrants will bankrupt the citrus industry, his NAFTA plan will put coca cola, GM and IBM into bankruptcy
brainbomb (290 D)

His tariffs on China will spark a global recession. His plans to eliminate obamacare will rob millions of health insurance they depend on.
Jamiet99uk (808 D)

GM should have been allowed to go bankrupt a few years ago anyway.
brainbomb (290 D)

How is this even a consideration?

Anecdotally, this was the first time I've ever had to wait to vote for more than 15 minutes. I had to wait about an hour. Sample size is 2010, 2012, 2014, and this year, plus an odd local election or two on off-years.

The general chatter I heard in line was pro-Trump, but I do live in a more suburban area (Northampton County, PA).

American taxpayers pay for bankruptcy same as we did bailouts. Its comparing 6 1/2 dozen of the other. Irrelevant

@"Jamiet99uk
GM should have been allowed to go bankrupt a few years ago anyway."

Or been nationalised if they were going to collapse and the government wanted to save all those jobs.

You can allow the state buy out a company - it seems rather silly to bail them out and get nothing back...

Trump doesnt understand that conducting risky business ventures doesnt work on a national scale. If you bankrupt an economy you have to borrow from China
Jamiet99uk (808 D)

@ ND yes but the thing is the poll does not seem to ask what the people were angry about...
orathaic (1009 D(B))

@Bb how do tax payers end up paying for bankrupcy exactly?
brainbomb (290 D)
08 Nov 16 UTC
ND stated the other day that American quality of life was better under GW Bush.
brainbomb (290 D)
08 Nov 16 UTC
Well its simple. Bankrupty alleviates debt to some "debtor". That debtor still gets paid by the govt. Bankruptcy doesnt just dissolve whats owed. Taxpayers cover it
brainbomb (290 D)
08 Nov 16 UTC
The govt couldnt even fulfil bankruptcy claims without taxpayer money to cover for insolvency. This is vasic economics. Everyone always gets what is owed

Brain, calling Trump supporters animals and sodomizers only causes to increase tension and hate. Shut the hell up. I don't care if it's satire.
Jamiet99uk (808 D)
08 Nov 16 UTC
@ Brainbomb: What? If GM owes money to banks and car dealerships and parts suppliers etc, and it goes bust, how do those creditors automatically become entitled to be reimbursed by the state?

Polarization Self-Assessment Thread
Politics has changed A LOT in the past ten years ago. In this thread, I'd like to encourage you all to think about your past political views and how greatly you've polarized over time. What issues do you care about today vs then? Why? Any original ideas or do you rely on the media for cues? Interested to hear some real self-assessment here! :)

Why is it that all (or most rather) live games are gunboat these days? I miss playing a fast game where people actually communicate and work together like how most of the games on here are played. Any idea why? D:

Viable Strategies for Austria
Whenever I play Austria I feel like I'm strategically forced to attack Turkey. I think that if Turkey isn't killed in the early game, he is basically forced based to go through Austria if he wants to reach the rest of the world. I know that this can't be the case, but I don't see the other strategies.
I would love to learn of some other options for Austria so I don't do the same thing every time I get it.
