So, looking at the gunboatleague doc there's a section called ladder? How does it work. Will it be based on total points earned or points earned/games played? I think it is a cool idea, but if not all players are playing an equal number of games perhaps the latter would be best? Though I do think perhaps a certain number of games would need to be played for a player to have a large enough sampling to have any meaning. Just wondering.

On the subject of uneven number of games played - the goal is to mix experienced and unexperienced players, to get a good mix of skill in the games. It's caused a bit of an uneven distribution, since the amount of players close to 100 are more than those with 500+. Not that points are necessarily an indication of skill, but it's a useful indicator. Sarg, do you have any ideas how to make the ladder fair? Maybe something along the lines of Points/Games played.

Games 3 was a 6-way draw. Everybody ganged up on Austria (15 SC's) supporting each other and blocking him to stop him taking the win (and in a Gunboat too).

Vaft, that's what I was imagining would be implemented.

Yeah, it was a good idea Barn3tt. It's up to Sarg though. The first part of the response was just an explanation why higher ranked players are in more games, at least in those I've created. If I want someone with 1000+ points or 400+ GR in the game, there are fewer to choose from than those with around 100-300 .

As for the ladder section, the Barn3tt-Vaftrudner suggestion is what I was thinking and along the lines of what Vaft and I briefly discussed when we talked about the idea. We have to give it more thought though - and neither of us have had the time this week. I'm glad there's interest in it though and with the total player group nearing the 50 mark, I think we should definitely get the Gunboat Ladder up and running soon.

I need to take a break for a couple months due to rl chaos and a couple trips that will likely keep me away from the internet for >48 hrs, so please don't include me in any more games for now. I hope to rejoin when the orgy of travel subsides. Thanks again for organizing these games, Sarg and Vaft--I've really enjoyed the ones I've been in.
