Mujus -1 for jumping in here just to tell us we're done talking.
@Mafia/Putin
Having thought about this now for the past day more than I've thought about it my entire life, this is what I have to say:
In my mind, girl referring to a woman and girl referring to a child were two separate words. Just like there, their, and they're. My brain simply didn't connect the two words together.
Having thought about it now, I agree that if someone didn't know me, they could mistake girl as being dismissive. So, I shall try to not use it when referring to women I don't know.
However, I will not stop using it with my friends. They know my meaning and are not offended by it. I refuse to believe that they are being subconsciously traumatized by me. I also refuse to believe that they wouldn't call me out on it if it bothered them.
Putin, you can go on about male's being more aggressive all you want, but unlike you, I actually know these people. They are assertive, strong-willed, and independent; they don't take shit from people, which is exactly why I'm friends with them in the first place.
If no parties involved are being offended, I still don't see how it is offensive.
