I mean, what exactly does "Samwise" mean in the context of this thread? Yet with all this material, you chose my "no cheating allowed" as the launch pad for your attempt at forum superiority? lol

Samwise refers to my comment about how one can boil, mash, or put potatoes into a stew, since the character who said the line I quoted is Samwish, from Lord of the Rings.

@Stukus - have you ever noticed that hobbits didn't deep fry anything? I mean no mention of chips (American or British) when Samwise talks of potatoes and I never read anything nor was it mentioned about fried chicken or anything. Hobbits may have eaten a lot, but they seemed to eat rather healthily.

They eat a lot of cake (when they can get it)
