England (Mintyboy) opened both fleets to the North Sea... Turkey (captainmeme), Russia (Mendax) and Austria (Me) have decided to constantly support moves that aren't being made, and Germany (TM) is being attacked by the 3 SC Russia that Turkey and I were wasting our time supporting. France (check mate) got triple teamed, and survived. And Italy (ATC) just floated around attacking everyone.

EDI-NTH, LON-NTH is simply a soft version of the Yorkshire Pudding opening which I have pulled off before, although admittingly in a gun boat. it is an advanced tactic I never expected someone else on webDip to know of and anyone who deploys it must be feared and respected.

I was just pleased not to be the first one knocked out :-) especially as it looked like that was how it was going to be at one point :) a great afternoon and I am up for any more f2f games in London!

Great afternoon, very amusing. Mendax and I's switching around of Galicia to keep ourselves alive for an extra year against all odds being a highlight.

Great day, would love to have another game soon, and damn Face to Face with a time limit is so damn stressful, made so many mistakes, but great game all round :)

I think my favourite moment was when three units of two separate powers supported a 3-SC Russia into Gal, with Russia instead opting to mount an attack via Sil on an 8-SC Germany who was pointing west :-P

This game, yet again taught me several returning themes for me in Diplomacy:
- different people have different goals (the psychology of surviving vs risking it to solo)
- rational consideration of moves takes you only so far, while working on the clock in a pub filled with ladies on hen night.
