Are they silly things?
Or personal more DEEPER things?
I mean... are these things that can be worked out, sorted thru? discussed? have you talked?

Tail.... nothing wrong with occasionally stepping out.... it's not necessarily right to the other person, but we ARE human after all. we all make mistakes and we don't know for sure if its a mistake til we do it. Tail-you need to see a counselor before Dec 18. At work , you should be able to see someone for free TOMORROW as a firefighter there should be free employee assistance program and/or critical trauma specialist. You guys see a lot of pain and tragedy and sometimes its just too much to dela with. We the public need you guys strong and prodcutive (to save us in emergencies) so most towns have resources to fund this help for you for free and its confidential, ask your HR person in confidence. your boss does not have to know, your wife does not have to know, but please get help right away, do not wait until December

yeah sometimes they are bunk. but keep trying utnil you get a counseor who is a good match for you. Its worth it, it will save you life and your job, maybe your marriage, and your kids will have a Dad.
