The Most Evil American? (And Most Evil Brit Too, Why Not?)
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/david-macaray/the-most-evil-american-in-history-wasnt-even-a-politician_b_6385188.html?ncid=txtlnkusaolp00000592 The article's choice? J. Edgar Hoover...and that's not a bad pick...nor are Andrew Jackson for the Democrats, or Richard Nixon for the Republicans. So--Most Evil American...and why not, Most Evil Brit? (PLEASE NOT DUBYA BUSH *OR* OBAMA...let's avoid that partisan cliche and allow history more time to judge both, eh?)

Is Coffee for Closers?
For those of you unfamiliar, the statement comes from a scene in Glengary Glen Ross: http://tinyurl.com/bkyyzlb . Basically it's about how if you want to do something, do it, and about not feeling entitled. I also recently read an article on Cracked which I will link here: http://bit.ly/1epy3r8 . So, how do you guys feel about the message of the speech and the article? Agree? Disagree? Kittens over Mittens? Please discuss.

GM
If you're interested in playing a game beginning sometime after January 11, post here. ITIL dumps - testking.co.uk
I'll take on the GM role alone initially but I would love to have a co-GM if anyone is interested in that.

Moral Dilemma
I don't believe in parties and I don't believe voting is always important. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pji_IX-UacM -- But isn't that like enabling??? And can anyone give me 1 good reason for political parties?

The UK's NHS is one of the most cost-effective healthcare systems in the world. The US taxpayer is currently paying far more than UK taxpayers do, for a much less reliable, much less cost-effective outcome.

JAMIET!!! i NEVER SAID that it was recent. And YES THE ECONOMY has boomed since the nuclear power. In 1945 the economy was at an all time low, from then until 1973 it only raised economic growth 2%. Then since Nuclear power was heavily integrated their economic growth has tripled. Those are the facts Jamiet, they alongside Germny are starting to be powerhouses of the EU, Britain is doing well too but you cant just deny the facts!!!
JamesYanik (548 D)
03 Jan 15 UTC
And Jamiet99uk, you dont understand, if the USA were to have a productive system like the UK's that would make logical sense, and we cant have that!
Octavious (2701 D)
03 Jan 15 UTC
The Americans can't wave a magic wand and create a USHS. Whilst it could conceivably become something akin to the NHS, it will be a long process and not a cheap one.

There are also all the issues of fairness and personal freedom etc etc. I dare say for a healthy American who looks after themselves may well be better off under the current system. A national health service will ultimately see them subsidising the healthcare of the far less health conscious, and that sort of thing doesn't sit well with a lot of Yanks.

Dear god, I went to watch The Hobbit and came back to see this. Well, let's have a crack at it. I plan to register independent and vote for the most bearable candidate, whose views agree most closely to mine. I also happen to plan to actually go into politics (but first majoring in and later getting a PhD in political science), but there are easy solutions for those with your dilemma that don't have my ambitions. Move. That's the big one. I recommend considering that at least slightly when deciding which college you want, James. Or complain to all hell when someone you don't like is elected and you start to disagree with their policies. Give them some feedback. Negative stuff. Or, on the same token, start trying your hand at lobbying. Cheap stuff, but still stuff. There's more to political participation than just voting.
Octavious (2701 D)

What was worse, the Hobbit or the thread? I damn near fell asleep during it, only to be awoken by the mayor's assistant doing a remarkably good impression of a Monty Python fake woman voice. Aside from that the overall effect was like watching someone else play a computer game with the difficulty setting on easy.

Bo_sux again is an idiot. 350 millions registered people, more like 400 million with all the illegals that also take up a huge responsibility to hospitals and doctors. If you want free health care move to Canada.

It's funny how
You think it's possible to have free Heath care in this country.

If you actually made a point rather than bland assertions, I might be able to respond and prove you wrong, at which point you'll probably harass me by PM yet again.
TrPrado (461 D)

Can I ask, oh wise one, why it is impossible to have free health care in this country (though I may regret it)?

that was you to me fucktard, i asked you to NEVER talk to me again. and you went off on a rant. Im more than happy to have the Mods publish them publicly, would you like that

TrPrado, the costs...its a long story and im not willing to elaborate but most doctors would soon leave the business before that happened

03 Jan 15 UTC
the powers that be and the lobbyists behind them in the pockets of washington will never allow it to happen
bo_sox48 (5202 DMod(G))
03 Jan 15 UTC
You're happy to "have the mods publish them publicly," huh, as if you can just tell them what to do? That's what I'm talking about. You are so fucking full of yourself that you respond to other people's questions, ones they were kind enough to ask privately, and use them to insult their families, their schools, their friends, and everyone remotely associated with them.

And then you come on this forum and have two people asking you to go into detail so we can talk and you just say you are "not willing to elaborate" and then make another blind assertion without any sort of evidence at all.

There you have it, folks.

Good talking to you, ssorenn. Be sure not to play with me anymore, because I metagame against you, remember, even though you have no evidence or support of any kind, but I attacked you a few times so it must be true.

i already asked you to never engage me again, so dont
bo_sox48 (5202 DMod(G))

No, but you should take constructive criticism seriously, otherwise it turns into bitch fights in public.
bo_sox48 (5202 DMod(G))
03 Jan 15 UTC
Then mute me. If you post in public, I can respond, whether it's addressed to me or not. If you mute me, you won't see me anymore. Happy day.

renewed faith in mankind
Today I got an email granting me an extension on paying for my first term in college I'm not going to go into details but literally 2 hours ago I was convince I wouldn't returning to school. Now I know for sure I am. This gives me absolute faith in humanity and reaffirms my choice in schools.

Race and Ethnicity
Recently, I have been filling out lots of forms. During this process, I have discovered a rather disturbing fact. Apparently, I do not have an ethnicity, nor even a race sometimes. In these forms many ethnicities are listed, from Aleut to Vietnamese. But while many small islands or island groups are present, I can't find Eastern European, or even Caucasian! Why is it that these are not considered of equal value to list as Samoan, or Guamanian?

A Thing - 2nd Edition
Hi again!

Domino's Pizza here in Japan is incredibly expensive. A single large pizza from Domino's is nearly 4,000 yen, which is about $35 in the US. Japan has very few obese people. Japan has almost zero instances of bloating before bedtime. I have only seen one person the size of a sumo wrestler (my dad) since arriving in a city of 30 million people. Coincidence, right?
