REGARDLESS of how the bill was defeated - why does the boy President throw a tantrum when *USELESS* legislation is defeated, but *NOT* show like anger when Americans are killed?

@Celtic - to answer your earlier question -- Was it a "bad" bill? In principle, no. But it would not have stopped any of the major shootings that have taken place in recent years. IN FACT, the government does NOT even prosecute *current* law for people that fail background checks! So what the fuck would be the use of THIS background check law when they don't enforce *current* law!?!

THAT is why this bill was just a fucking joke and a policial tunt - nothing more, nothing less. Everyone knew if it passed the Senate (which is would have with Democrat support) it would have failed in the Congress -- which is why Obama was pissed, because now he can't blame the Republican Congress...i.e. the boy President sort of kind of lost a Political issue he wanted to use against the Republicans.

Words is words. Except when inciting others to commit a crime (hate speech) or when inciting a crowd to panic, they are protected. Laws about swear words have been struck down, even when used inappropriately in front of children.

@krellin - I'm not afraid of that word. I have plenty of songs on my ipod that have that word used in them. I have read many books with that term in them. It's just one of those words that is very tricky. If I was penning a tune and used that word to refer to my friends, two things would happen. My friends would think I was crazy, and some people would call me a racist. Not everyone, but some. If, however, I referred to a black male as that term while I was mad at him, I would be called a racist by everyone. And, IF that happened, they would be right. That won't happen, however. Because I am not a racist.

@krellin - Doesn't make them any less illegal. Libel and slander are civil crimes. Lying in court is a criminal act called perjury. Inciting a riot or a call to arms against a protected class of people is legally a hate crime. Shouting fire in a crowded theater is considered reckless endangerment and criminally prosecutable. So you fail on that argument. But despite that, I was actually supporting you outside those specific types of word usage.
