Geez, fuzzy. Could you please learn English? I honestly have a hard time following what you are saying. What grade are you in or is english a second language to you?

Now, regarding Matthew 28 - Nothing in it says anythign about the literal interpretation of the Old Testament, specifically Genesis.

Matthew 28
King James Version (KJV)

Matthew 28
1In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.

2And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.

3His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow:

4And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men.

5And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.

6He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.

7And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you.

8And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word.

9And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him.

10Then said Jesus unto them, Be not afraid: go tell my brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see me.

11Now when they were going, behold, some of the watch came into the city, and shewed unto the chief priests all the things that were done.

12And when they were assembled with the elders, and had taken counsel, they gave large money unto the soldiers,

13Saying, Say ye, His disciples came by night, and stole him away while we slept.

14And if this come to the governor's ears, we will persuade him, and secure you.

15So they took the money, and did as they were taught: and this saying is commonly reported among the Jews until this day.

16Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them.

17And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted.

18And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

19Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

20Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Please show me where he mentions the Law and the Prophets anywhere in here. In fact, it refers to all the things he taught whoch would include the fact that he brought a new testament and a new commandment to replace all others - Love the neighbor as thyself.

yes this thread has gone completely off of what it was ment for. this is recruiting and krellin and Draug you guys arent applying and if anyone else is not trying to get in please do not comment.

Draug I said "GREAT COMISION IS MATHEW 28" you should learn to read what im saying and its not hard to follow what i am saying you are just ignoring what i am saying.
Draugnar (0 DX)
17 Apr 12 UTC
Right and you argued that the Great Comission means all the Bible is true. Nothing of the sort is mentioned here. Please provide one instance in the New Testament where Jesus states every word of the Law and the Prophets is factual. You can't because he doesn't. Only some of his followers ever said that and they were humans with failings (especially Paul).
krellin (80 DX)
17 Apr 12 UTC
Fuzzy --- you are 100% wrong. Go read the 4 Gospels **for real** and then get back to us. Until then, you ae jut a fool.

So...parpable are NOT to be taken literally??? So then..."..If you believe that the bible is the only way but dont believe everything in the bible then you are saying the bible is faulse..." So now you are saying the Bible is false?

As for being a good Bareean and checking what scripture says, good for you. Now, go out and buy yourself a good Concordence, some respectable commentaries, a Bible encylopedia and really study it. Because right now...phhhhht....you are unimpressive.

By the way, here are some Gospels contradictions: 1. Matthew and Luke give a different genealogy for Joseph; 2. Who cares about Joseph's geneoogy anyway, Jesus was a virgin birth, and therefore whether or not Joseph decended from King David is meaningless 3. How come ONLY Matthew and Luke mention the "virgin birth"...kind of seems like a BIG miss. Not even Paul mentions this 4. the place of Jesus birth is contradicted in different Gospels.

Better do your research, boy.

Because you said Draug is wrong for not taking Genesis literally....and now you say what?

OH hell - who said I'm not applying. Conservative a and vaguely, used-to-be Christian - until I realized Christianity was full of dufuses like you and KA....but I'll put my Bible knowledge up against yours any day.
Vaftrudner (2533 D)
17 Apr 12 UTC
Here's an interesting question (to me at least), was Jesus infallible? The general consensus in the Western churches is, IIRC, that he had two natures, divine and human, co-existing. I haven't read a lot about it for Christianity, but I've followed some of the historical debate in Islam, where the case of Muhammed has been hotly debated.
krellin (80 DX)
17 Apr 12 UTC
As for this thread going off-topic...thank God...did you see what the topic was?

By the way - you mention your Church is established just like the Bible tells you it should be. So...you have a bunch of sister churches that go to the Church in Jerusalem when you have a dispute over doctrine? Because, that's what happens in the book of Acts, in which the Church is established.
Vaftrudner (2533 D)
17 Apr 12 UTC
To be clear by the way, no one in Islam claims that Muhammed was more than human, but some argue that from his revelation, he was guided by God, living and personifying his word, and as such infallible. Some also claim that he was born infallible even before he received the revelation, as part of God's plan.
krellin (80 DX)
17 Apr 12 UTC
(BTW - I now how to answer my Church question...let's see if you do, since you claim knowledge of how your church is set up)
krellin (80 DX)
17 Apr 12 UTC
@Vaft - He had both nature, His God-nature was perfect, obviously, and His man-nature suffered all temptations of man, but He lived wholly-subject to His God-nature and did not sin. This and only this makes Him the perfect Sacrifice, the "Lamb" of God who's single death is sufficient to conquer all sin. (This is explained nicely in the Book of Hebrews). This is analogous to how man is instructed to daily "sacrifice" our bodies (desires, temptations) to the Holy Spirit and walk as Christ walked in perfection.
Vaftrudner (2533 D)
17 Apr 12 UTC
Right, so he EXPERIENCED his human nature, but lived solely by the divine? That makes sense.
Draugnar (0 DX)
17 Apr 12 UTC
@krellin - Are you sure your not a Christian deist who believes in the failings of man as explanations for the contradictions of the Bible? That last sure sounded like it came from the heart.
fuzzyhartle1 (100 D)
17 Apr 12 UTC
@krellin right now you are being rescpectable, unlike before, as were draugnar is not. i am going to geuss you were just mad before prior to the conversation. I believe that the bible tells the truth and I believe in EVERYTHING in the bible and the parables to be taken seriously and live according to the message. there is always going to be errors and things left out becuase humans wrote it, that is why there are 4 gosples for error's and so people can get the full veiw and also luke and acts make a thing in litterature that I cant remember what it is called but lukes builds up and then acts is the conclusion to lukes gospel.I have the NLT version. @ Draug- I didnt say Mathew 24 says the whole bible is true I said it was the Great comision but that infact is mathew 28. I dont have the verse that says you need only the Bible to be with God but if you go on Human tradition then you are just like the Pharasies (or however it is spelled). You are just being a jerk and close-ended and anything I say to you, you will just dis-credit all of it. So there is no point for this to continue. So krellin i will continue to talk to you rescpetfully becuase you havent bashed at me for spelling.
Bro, open Microsoft Word (whatever version you have) or the equivalent on a non-PC, type what you're gonna say, hit F7 and follow the popup onscreen instructions, then copy-paste the finished result and post it in. Please.
fuzzyhartle1 (100 D)
17 Apr 12 UTC
also krellin just PM me or make another thread becuase now I have allowed this to go off topic.
Draugnar (0 DX)
17 Apr 12 UTC
@fuzzy - I believe the Bible is to be taken seriously as well. But seriously does not equal literally. And being an evangelist does not mean your heart is right as people get off on the power, fame, and fortune and will abuse the Word and bend it to get what they want. They are called false prophets. Jim Bakker was one such flase prophet. Pat Robertson is another. Billy Graham, on the other hand, is a true, man of God living an upright life and practicing what he preaches.

@FUZZY "there is always going to be errors and things left out becuase humans wrote it,'

WRONG ANSWER. If you claim there are errors, then you are claiming that the God-Breathed Word is *fallible*. IF there is error, then NONE of it can be believed, because you won't know which part is in error. Admitting error destroys faith *entirely*. Better read up on that bit... "2 Timothy 3:16 -- All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness..."

Your mistake before was suggesting it all had to be taken *literally*, which is vastly different then it is all true and useful info. It is easy to imagine Genesis is not talking about a literal 6 day creation...the only way it does work is if God created a universe with age, in motion (easy to believe) and that he seeded the earth with old things at creation (not easy to believe). The alternative was that Adam and Even were be-bopping around the Garden for a couple million years before they got thrown out of the pool.

Seriously, though, you need to not proclaim yourself an expert on the Bible if you are not...and you are not. I am not by any stretch, but it is pretty easy to pick apart your statements. Strong faith is good....bad arguments make you look foolish.

@krellin, another question for you on the nature of Christ. I'm not religious, but I like to explore different schools of thought, and I find the metaphysical aspects of religions fascinating.

If Christ's actions were dictated by his divine nature, would you say that Christ the Man had free will?
fuzzyhartle1 (100 D)
17 Apr 12 UTC
Krellin thank you I was looking for that scripture. I'm not saying error in the sense of spelling or wrong information I was implying more on over time people copying the text wrongly because of typos in translation.
fuzzyhartle1 (100 D)
17 Apr 12 UTC
Oh krellin I didnt proclaim I know everything about the Bible. but I'm glad you aren't being like Draugnar and discrediting my Church completely

Why does Germany go to Sweden in Fall '01 so often?
I can understand moving to Denmark in spring to keep the threat alive as diplomatic leverage, but by moving to Sweden right away, Germany angers Russia. Germany's usually going to be able to take Sweden away when he chooses anyway if Russia doesn't open strong to Scandinavia, so why are people so eager to make an enemy right off the bat?
