No, you started the thread DD. You had asked whether other people were told 'I never want to play with you again', and by and large, we discovered that with a few exceptions, it was almost exclusively you.

I guess I should have expected you to jump in here, but I didn't think you were so aggressively antagonistic towards me that you're out looking for opportunities to bash me. Once again, I understimated you.

to all - it took me a while to realize this, but this community has more than its fair share of children and childish behavior... way more than i'd ever want to deal with. but thankfully the adults and 'good folk' more than make up for the occasional (but regular) childish insults

If anyone should be banned, it should be Sicarius. Personal insults are part of phpDiplomacy. You might as well ban everyone, myself included.

The point is, that a ban because of a personal insult would result in nearly every player being banned unless this remained an isolated case, which would be unfair to DD.

The other thread was to see if anyone else had it happen, and if so why. I KNEW why it was happening to me. You and Babak made it obvious, along with a couple others who I stabbed (yes, I really do stab once in a while).

DJ, you came into this thread solely to bash me. Talk about childish and self-righteous. This thread was defused and dead. I had apologized for a supposed offense,and it was over. But you won't let it rest, because it is too easy an opportunity to get your childish digs in...like suggesting that he "veterans" of the community are against me.

If you want to really use your head, try to remember why I had said I didn't want to play you any more. It had NOTHING to do with game long alliances. And it wasn't said with any malice whatsoever. We had a quite cordially discussion during that game and subsequent ones, we just disagreed about certain fundamental aspects of the game.

The reason I had posted in this thread was that I had hoped that maybe as a result of the thread YOU started, after discovering the reasons why so many had told you they didn't want to play with you, that we might find a kinder gentler DD at the end of the day. And even during that thread you started, there was no malice on my part, and I even defended your right to join any game you want and to play the game how you want. Or did you forget all that, and merely want to see my observations as throwing crayons. As a kneejerk reaction. You really think that? Or is something else bothering you?

Nothing else, DJ. That's it. I explained the other thread. I wanted to see if others were hearing the same thing, and why. I knew I was because of my playing style. But you refuse to accept that as the truth. Just as you refuse to accept that I don't start games with a goal of gaining a draw. I just like to have solid alliances, and they often end in draws. I don't start a game saying "I want a four-way". I start a game saying "I want to do well, even win, and I'm going to do it by having and being a good ally." But will you accept that as the truth? No. So what is it that is bothering you?

not going to lie, i have to side with dipperdon. didnt read all the posts but if someone is ALREADY making fun of you and insulting you, you should by all means have a right to say anything back. same thing happened to me a while ago, if anyone recalls. although somehow i ended up looking really bad

personal insults are not against the rules. also this is not a Christianity forum. keep in mind that in reality insults are the less that happens between countries or diplomats (wars kill people).
nevertheless i dont believe insults can be used as a way to distract a person or make him lose concentration. 99% of the times used its just totally childish...

i like how BoG expected an apology from DD for his private comment but seems unwilling to offer DD an apology for bringing his petty compliants/whining about a private conversation to the public forums. /sarcasm

Actually, insults can be a great way to get someone to come after you and overlook an ally's sneaking up behind him.

P.S. My above (way above) comment was intended in jest. I have no problem with language (hell, the Corps taught me to cuss with the best of them and in several languages), so I just threw that one out there. Sorry if I actually did offend anyone.
