Anglo-German Alliance: The Anlgo-Saxon
I usually find that I am too paranoid of German fleets to make this one work very well. Does this one work well for anyone?

Austro-Russian Alliance: The Peppermint
It has been a long time since I have seen one of these, They seem to almost never form at the beginning of the game. It seems the Juggernaut overshadows this potent alliance. I have in the past seen Russia and Austria block Turkey in and neutralize him, in advance of turning on Germany and Italy. Then once the two of them had established dominance with their armies the rest of the map was left trying to figure out how to keep one of them from eliminating Turkey and soloing.

Please keep a form of PPSC scoring
The new scoring systems are forms of winner takes all

I'm passionate about keeping a form of ppsc, that allows self interest in the desire to achieve wins, but also allows the winner to reward a loyal ally with points

Only significant issue I had with the film (and I don't think this is a spoiler) was a) Leia's dialogue (poorly written, imho) and b) Carrie Fisher's acting. She seemed a bit stiff and wooden. That could just be me.

I think the film was good enough to make us forget the prequels. Reminded me of Star Wars (not 'A New Hope'. It was released as 'Star Wars' and that is what it will always be to me. The renaming recalls the 'improvements' Lucas made to the original trilogy that weren't really improvements. I digress.) in a lot of ways, but different enough to keep me interested. I liked Rey more than I expected to. Nice jumping off point for the rest of the series.

Lol, had to +1 that one.

I think you have to be a little forgiving with this one since it had the challenge of both tying up old stories/characters while introducing a new one. While i really did enjoy this one for what it was, i'm quite confident now that the work of the stage getting set is completed that it's only going to get better from here.

I would suspect moving forward that Luke (and maybe Chewbacca) will be the only characters of the original trilogy to get much screentime while the rest will probably fall into the background, allowing for a better focus on the arcs of the new characters which will make for more interesting story telling.

I kept thinking Fisher was missing her top teeth. she sounded fucked up
Chewy is only 200 years old, That's middle aged for a wookie. So to a point Han was kind of like an old dog for him. No reason why he couldn't/wouldn't end up as the co-pilot on the Millenium Falcon still. Luke, heck he's a jedi, even if he dies we've still got a spectral version of Siri for the rest of the films.

I got a copy of the script of VIII. This is mindblowing, dont read what Im about to say if you hate spoilers.
The film is called Hans Back.
And you find out Finn is Han and Leia's other son. But hes illigitimate son with Lando, Leia banged Lando. Wow!
And then Luke admits to Han that he is his father.

I will say Harrison Ford was as good as ever. He felt the same as his younger version. And I felt he stole the show in terms of comic relief and driving the plot. I am forever a han solo fan. His banter in all the movies brought them to life.

At least they didn't bring back the Ewoks.

The fast pace in the second half was so you wouldn't notice how they kept playing with time. There just wasn't enough time for the fight sequences and Han meeting up inside the base with everyone compared to the count down to fire. Also the Resistance base got an accurate count down even in another star system.

This is a movie so forget reality, continuity, how things were always in the right spot when needed, and try to enjoy some of it.

Script for Ep VIII is out and not to give too much away. But you learn that Snoke is Darth Plagueis and his father is an ewok. They go to endor and raise a new weapon even worse than the sunkiller, its an ewok launcher. And it hurls ewoks at unsuspecting planets while playing 1970s music.

Just watched it. It was almost as though they modified EU and filmed it (with great production). My only complaint was that the last 30 seconds was pretty laughable with Rey and Luke just standing there.

randomizer, i thought continuity was something that movie directors got paid to create? isn't that how one tells a good story?
Randomizer (722 D)
26 Dec 15 UTC
Directors get paid for the big picture. The good ones make sure their story doesn't have any holes and it's good.

But as a minor example near the beginning, BB-8 gets pulled up into the fighter with what looks like a plunger on its head and the next bit shows him now being pushed up into position from below. The fighter's depth doesn't have space for the transition given BB-8's height.

By the end the problem is timing. When the DVD comes out it'll be easier to time scenes on the planet versus the count down. The scenes when they are sneaking around and talking exceed the count down intervals. If you count the time needed to get back outside to escape it gets even worse.

You have a set number of scenes needed for the story and all they did was make sure they were in the right order. But here was a countdown where they couldn't have gotten everything done in time.

Exciting and dissapointing, 7 = 4. It would have been great if they tried a different story, at least avoiding another DS.

Third time's the charm? So we have a shield like this time, but now it's actually right here and easier to defend and people can't get to it. Will it work? Nope.

Just seen it... Is it me getting old or were all the Imperials ridiculously young?

Bloody hell, but what a crap film! Did anyone else have a major problem with Fin going from an anti-war pacifist stormtrooper in the first few minutes, to someone who couldn't care less about slaughtering countless of his comrades (who are also the only family he's ever known) in his escape attempt, to someone willing to kill everyone he ever knew in the last scenes to essentially impress a girl. Talk about the dark side!

Speaking of the dark side, was anyone else concerned when hero girl mugged the poor little alien chap on his space donkey and stole the droid he salvaged? There he was was, just having made the find of his life that was worth 60 self baking super loafs, and looking forward to giving his wife and kids a Christmas they'll never forget, and bitch girl with the big stick steals it off him!

Still, it looked pretty...
TrPrado (461 D)
30 Dec 15 UTC
Of course they were young. They were kidnapped as children to serve the First Order.
TrPrado (461 D)
30 Dec 15 UTC
Also, I'm pretty sure the "alien chap on his space donkey" didn't have a family (Rey said he didn't care about others, so I don't think feeding a family was high on his priorities), and he was going to scrap the droid, at that point being worth less than 60 portions.

You only have her word for that, and as a violent thief who dates mass murdering military deserters and idolises a drug smuggler, I don't give that much weight
TrPrado (461 D)
30 Dec 15 UTC
Also, don't think Finn was so much pacifistic as disgusted by the First Order's willingness to slaughter the innocent villagers.
Droids are people too.
