Realpolitik Diplomacy-sign ups
Realpolitik diplomacy is diplomacy with a twist, unlike the standard game, this game will be played with a internal politics mechanism. Instead of playing as a country, you play as a political party within that country, vying not only to be the dominant force on the board, but also to command the loyalties of your electorate. See in side for the rules.

You Say You Wanna 2nd American Revolution? Brits vs. Yanks Game!
http://webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=144210 As we play "Fireworks or Gunshot?" here on July 4th in the States, why not join the ranks of your countrymen and start the whole damn bloody business over again? Brits (and Canadians, assuming the Brits agree) will fight on one side, Yanks on the other...winners get the pot (or I suppose can fall to fighting amongst themselves) AND have to adopt the other side's linguistic customs for one week after the loss--for Crown or Colonies, go!

I had a real job for two years, a Bar Mitzvah, and a graduation party. I've got over $10K in my savings account and another couple thousand on my debit card, which isn't much in the grander scheme of things, but when you don't pay taxes, have literally no bills to pay, and have no family to provide for, it's more than enough...

I agree with Putin, celebrating Osama getting killed at a baseball game is off-putting to me
obiwanobiwan (248 D)
05 Jul 14 UTC
Ah...I remember hearing Osama was killed watching the game AND Putin being the unhappiest person about this display of unity in the face of one of the world's most notorious criminals being taken down.

"It's still disgusting when people dance in the streets to gloat about the deaths of others."

Yep!

Because Middle Easterners dancing in the streets about the 9/11, London and Madrid terrorist attacks against INNOCENT people is COMPLETELY the same as the survivors of those attacks celebrating that ten years and thousands dead later, the architect responsible has been taken out.

COMPLETELY the same!

Because, of course, we ONLY care about the USA, UK and Spain.
Yep.
Yep yep yep.
That's why.

That's why we treat Osama's death differently than the deaths of those victims.

Yep yep yep yep yep.

Ah...you know, that game took me back, made me think:

Three years...how much has CHANGED in my life in three years...

But one thing that hasn't--Putin33, everybody! (Well, and the Mets sucking.)

"Putin being the unhappiest person about this display of unity"

I hear lynch mobs are united too. Leave it to you to expound on the virtues of being a mindless engorged revenge tick.

"But one thing that hasn't"

And you being a fanged, bloodthirsty boor.

"attacks celebrating that ten years and thousands dead later, the architect responsible has been taken out."

As well as four other unarmed people. But they're not human either, right?

And the people at the Pentagon never planned or carried out any attacks, right?
bo, obi, and ssoreen really would be al qadea jihadists if they were born in a different place. putin and pe seem to have basic principles though.

"Ummm, but I wasn't"

That's little consolation to the people who have to put up with your sadistic rants.
so you're not at all perturbed that it's purely coincidental that you cheer the death of osama bin laden, but if you had been born in a different place, given your personality, you would have cheered for 9/11? i was expecting at least a spurious rebuttal.
obiwanobiwan (248 D)

"I hear lynch mobs are united too. Leave it to you to expound on the virtues of being a mindless engorged revenge tick."

This is the problem with damn near every argument you make, Putin...arguing to the Absurd Extreme Example.

Unity???

:O

THE NAZIS DEMONSTRATED UNITY!
LYNCH MOBS DEMONSTRATED UNITY!
THE KKK DEMONSTRATES UNITY!
NORTH KOREA DEMONSTRATES UNITY! (Oh, wait, you're fine with that.)

Yes...because a baseball crowd chanting "U-S-A, U-S-A!" after a man that killed thousands of Americans is killed is on par with the above absurd examples.

Because, hey, both are unity, and therefore both have the exact same social contexts that inform that situation, right?

I apologize to engorged ticks everywhere for the comparison to Obiwan. No organism deserves such a fate.

"so you're not at all perturbed that it's purely coincidental that you cheer the death of osama bin laden, but if you had been born in a different place, given your personality, you would have cheered for 9/11?"

That's specious reasoning to begin with, since our personalities are dictated by our surroundings, ergo, if we'd been born in different surroundings, we might have completely different personalities, and therefore potentially cheer for both or neither.

(Though I would like to see what Putin's views on North Korea would be if he WERE born in that state.)

By the way, on the topic of the, um, thread...

2 more Brits/British side sympathizers, and 1 more American needed, folks.

We have 7/10, come on, let's make this game happen.

No I don't sweat his death a little. I'd kill him myself, with my bare hands given the chance.
Putin33 (111 D)

How is that an extreme comparison? Executions used to be public festivals and that's the type of 'unity' you're extolling. Except this couldn't even be called an execution since there was not even the pretense of law involved here. So the lynch mob comparison is apt.

Had they bothered to keep OBL alive when they captured him, I'm sure you wouldn't object in the slightest to a public lynch mob complete with fair food and carnival rides.

Putin, I will buy you that first class ticket to Korea I you'll go. I would love to see you long on to Dip, where we will create a Southeast Asia Variant and you will be the destroyer of Korea. Let's see how long you live.
well, obi, it's not actually specious reasoning, because i said "given your personality", so your point about a different personality is irrelevant - but thanks for the attempted rebuttal, that avoids the point i was making.

ssorenn - is this death fine without a trial or adherence to any of the 'democratic' foundations of the US?
ssorenn (0 DX)
05 Jul 14 UTC
Not manly, just honest. I'm quite sure I'm not alone in that thinking
ssorenn (0 DX)

His death was fine, he claimed responsibility for the action so no trial necessary. Why waste more of my tax dollars.

Are you even from New York?

Putin33 (111 D)
05 Jul 14 UTC
"he claimed responsibility for the action so no trial necessary."

According to witnesses he plead innocence during the raid.

Guess that's irrelevant. Shoot everybody on sight, right?
i think the country would be a better place if people viewed basic rights in the same way as you ssorenn.
obiwanobiwan (248 D)

"Are you even from New York?"

...You KNOW I'm a LA County person? O.o

I'm a Mets fan because I liked Mike Piazza when I was 6 or 7 on the Dodgers, he got traded to the Marlins, there for a week, then to a Mets, and that's where he and I settled (for better or for worse) team-wise.

(That whole Padres/Athletics thing was just a bad dream.)

Disband order for CD
When a country misses a move during build phase that it needs to disband in, what order are the units disbanded in? Is it totally random? Or does it have to do with the timeline in which the units were built?
