@fuzzy - So because I go to the Lutheran Church which has been around a lot longer than your Church of Christ but doesn't believe Genesis Chapter 1 is to be interpreted literally along with a number of other sections which clearly ignore the facts of the universe and even our own solar system as we understand them today, then I'm not a real Christian?
Please, when you die and go before Christ, he will cast you out into the darkness where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. You want to know why? Because you would deny others from coming to him through his calling and require them to only come in *your* way, not his.
In so denying the Christianity of others, you pass judgment on them.
"Either how canst thou say to thy brother, Brother, let me pull out the mote that is in thine eye, when thou thyself beholdest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to pull out the mote that is in thy brother's eye. For a good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit; neither doth a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. For every tree is known by his own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes. A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh." Luke 6:42-46
So, if someone doe that which is right before God - gives selfishly without expecting any return or bows down and calls Jesus "Lord of all." - then he is a Christian for a an unclean heart can not do those things above, yet you would both judge them and find them wanting despite Jesus' teachings to the contrary. Take that to your preacher and see what he says.
