Anger at economic circumstances under Obama.

ie the general downturn (caused by wall street under Bush) was blamed on Obama and his economic policies. And the alternative presented to the people (Clinton) was to vote for someone who actually likes the status quo and has ties to wall street.

That along with some lower class white people (among those who suffered the most) resenting Obama (because he was doing pretty well for himself); at least that is one feeling that Trump capitalized upon.

Without that racist under tone, i think the republicans wouldn't have won the electoral college. As they didn't win the popular vote... i think it was a risky strategy to put Trump forward for election, but that's the way the primaries went.

Trump was super unpopular. HRC was super unpopular. They were extremely close. Trump focused on Michigan, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Florida. HRC focused on California and New York. That was a bad move on HRC's part.

actually, let me take this a BIT further. I cant think of a single politician i do like to be honest. So, she happens to fall under the "Politicians suck" area, but her "We landed under sniper fire" crap hit close to home with me, since I knew it was a lie the first time I heard it.
