Realpolitik Diplomacy-sign ups

Realpolitik diplomacy is diplomacy with a twist, unlike the standard game, this game will be played with a internal politics mechanism. Instead of playing as a country, you play as a political party within that country, vying not only to be the dominant force on the board, but also to command the loyalties of your electorate. See in side for the rules.

You Say You Wanna 2nd American Revolution? Brits vs. Yanks Game!

http://webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=144210 As we play "Fireworks or Gunshot?" here on July 4th in the States, why not join the ranks of your countrymen and start the whole damn bloody business over again? Brits (and Canadians, assuming the Brits agree) will fight on one side, Yanks on the other...winners get the pot (or I suppose can fall to fighting amongst themselves) AND have to adopt the other side's linguistic customs for one week after the loss--for Crown or Colonies, go!

I guess as an addendum to that...

I don't know of any French WebDip players, but since the British side can enlist Canadians, if there are any French WebDippers out there that want to fight on the side of the Americans...um...

Remember us as we were in 1776, not as we are in 2014, and come and join on our side! ;)

If you get enough people to start this and REALLY want a patriotic 5-on-5, I can reassign the countries so the Americans get the five American countries and the Brits/etc. get the non-American ones :murka:

The only issue I see with PE's idea is one of balance. The 5 non-US players would have a much harder time getting to a point where they can work together to take down the US, and I feel like Quebec and BC would just get completely stomped on early on.

How so? It seems like the USA is surrounded and would have to fight a two-front war, whereas the "British" would only have to worry about their own front each and coordinate with their allies on the other side.

Though that does remind me--

PE, we have one USA spot left...do you want to fill it?

It'll be interesting to see how he does, considering he's switching leagues, and arguably the the league it's tougher to pitch in.

On that baseball note, watching the Mets/Phillies game from 5/1/2011, Mets win in 14, 2-1...

But made memorable as that was the night they announced Bin Laden was killed, "U-S-A!" chants and all at the ballpark.

I remember that night well, I remember learning about it watching this game, can't believe it's been 3 years already.

balance is an issue for sure but the point of the game is a lighthearted fun battle instead of an ultracompetitive slugfest so hopefully it'll be ok

as for joining, ~maybe~, hopefully 3 more people will sign up and it won't be necessary

Disband order for CD

When a country misses a move during build phase that it needs to disband in, what order are the units disbanded in? Is it totally random? Or does it have to do with the timeline in which the units were built?

Trouble logging on from home.

I can log on to site from iPhone 4g but my home internet will not allow me to log on. It keeps saying server not responding. I can get all other sites I try just no webdip
