Masters Poll
To those who are in the Masters, I'd like to put up to a vote whether we should keep phases for future rounds at 48 hours, or move to 36 hour phases. There are five rounds to play, and Round 3 will be launching in the next two weeks.

Apart from the fact that the turk should have been out 2 years ago and he still is in the game, there a very strange behaveour of england who is hitting all other players left, part from the italian who is winning. I refuse to belive that someone is so dumb as to do that! I would really love to know if they are or aren't in connection?! Ty

So many people know me, I don't even recognise them.
I just walked the dog. Came by a few kids, Morrocan roots I think. I'm white, not a racist, just noticed it usually happens with people with foreign roots, Morrocan most of the time. So any way, one of them said my name, asked about my dog blabla. Turns out they all knew me. I didn't answer. Just walked on. I don't get it. Anyone recognises this or anything?

Also it never seemed to dawn on France that if both Austria and Russia CD one after another this might in some weird strange way benefit Turkey, so he ploughs on attacking both France and England when he should have been sailing into the Med to form a stalemate line ...... sad, sad, sad

Pot calling the CD black, much, MM? You can only draw for so long before you reach the point where it would be a waste of your time. A baseball game has to complete five innings before it's an official game. This is the same idea. If I've played a game for over an hour and someone CDs, I don't draw either.
Fairfax (1915 D)
19 Apr 13 UTC
I don't really see why he should have thrown away a game he spent a good deal of time on and was clearly doing very well even before the CDs because of something that wasn't his fault.
2ndWhiteLine (2596 D(B))
19 Apr 13 UTC
If someone CDs in 1901/1902, I always put up my 'Cancel' vote. After that, it's all fair game. If the game had gone on and Russia/Austria had CD'd in 1908, would you be bitching for the same reason?
Draugnar (0 DX)

1905 before they check out and Italy has Austria dominated, yet he fucks up and lets Turkey in behind his lines. Italy is to blame for that fuck up. Had he protected his backside while working on Austria, Turkey would never have slipped in beneath him. Austria was already finished when he checked out so don't lay that on Turkey and Turkey then spent time crushing ITaly, not stealing from a CD Russia. So I think Turkey won because Italy, Gemrnay, and England were to slow in reacting, not because of the CDs. The CDs altered the game, but they didn't give it to Turkey, not by a long shot.
Strauss (758 D)
19 Apr 13 UTC
Yes, you're right. Turkey had an easy solo victory, after every nation east of the map quits, while Germany, England and France were unable to move to the east and possessed front and watched as Turkey clearing away dead nations to each other. Everyone wants to win, but everyone should ask if the gift of victory is really important and goes to draw. I've done this many times, a victory under such conditions may not be much worth for me. Sure, rarely I'm selfish too, but only when I need points. This must be every agree with themselves. This is common here among some top players. This is skill, fairness and self-confidence.
Draugnar (0 DX)
19 Apr 13 UTC
Turkey crushed an active Italy. Not an easy victory. If France, England, and Germany hadn't been asleep at the wheel, they would have seen what was happening and come to Italy's rescue bolstering him up and stalemating Turkey. If Italy had covered his southern flank and not been so obsessed with finishing off Austria, he wouldn't have been outmaneuvered Nothing was easy abo0ut that solo and everyone is to blame, not just the CDers.
MichiganMan (5121 D)
19 Apr 13 UTC
y'all are fucking morons...no offense. Austria was trying to be sneaky with me, and Russia was doing fuck all. Both were allowing Turkey to gain and gain, and gain unfettered. Then, BOTH of Austria and Russia CD'ed, and it was over. Turkey didn't get my flank until AFTER Austria had taken Tunis and was fucked from behind by the Turk.
bo_sox48 (5202 DMod(G))
19 Apr 13 UTC
If the west had been smart enough to save Italy's butt, that's a 17-center draw.
MichiganMan (5121 D)
19 Apr 13 UTC
Bottom line...Turkey never even THOUGHT about drawing despite the fact that when Russia and Austria went into CD, it was a near forgone conclusion that he was going to win.
bo_sox48 (5202 DMod(G))
19 Apr 13 UTC
Well, not save Italy, but back him up. France and Germany fighting doomed it.
Draugnar (0 DX)
19 Apr 13 UTC
But he had to be alive to take Tunis, now didn't he? First you cry "it was the CDs!" then you cry "Austria was a moron!" Well, I hate to tell yo but either his CD caused it (which it didn't) or his moronic play did (which definitely *did* contribute). But you can't have it both ways. Once you had Austria all but crushed, he then CDed. It sucks, but it wasn't what cost you the game.
2ndWhiteLine (2596 D(B))
19 Apr 13 UTC
Turkey gained a COMBINED four centers from Austria and Russia after they CD'd.

I'm also curious, MM, why you didn't build in 1905 when you had five centers and four units?
Draugnar (0 DX)
19 Apr 13 UTC
MichMan, you are just bitter that the west was busy fighting each other and didn't seem to have a fucking clue plus you left your southern flank wide open so blaming it on the CDs is all you can grasp at. Anyone reviewing that game can see the CDs made it a touch easier, but the west being inwardly focused and you and Austria going at it tow to toe and not keeping Turkey in check was the real cause of your loss. He could have been stalemated even after the CDs, but nobody bothered to do it.
MichiganMan (5121 D)

@2nd,

you're not a newb, so don't start with the tally of SC's. It was the complete and total lack of resistance that is more important...c'mon you know that, or should.

@Draug,

I can have it any way I want it because I am 100% correct.

QUESTION for MM. I played as England last night (gameID=115465) and France CDs when I'm at 17 centers. Should I have voted draw? Sounds like you'd be pissed off that I didn't.
bo_sox48 (5202 DMod(G))
19 Apr 13 UTC
@MM .. the only reason that Turkey wasn't stopped at 17 centers is because Germany and France alike were both unable to see what was coming when they formed a stalemate line and continued to fight until Germany broke into Burgundy and France to Ruhr, at which point the damage was done. It could have been a four-way draw, even with every other center Turkey took, fairly or not.
MichiganMan (5121 D)
19 Apr 13 UTC
I am not bitter Draug.

I would have at least put my draw up if I were Turkey. Now, if it didn't go through, well that is a different story.

2nd, apples to oranges, but nice try.
MichiganMan (5121 D)

I often find it interesting after the game to see when players joined the site and their resign rates:
Turkey - 23-Jan-2012 RR:3%
France - 1-Jan-2012 RR: 2%
Germany - 1-Apr-2013 RR:0%
Italy 11 - Aug-2010 RR: 8%
England - 6-Jan-2012 RR: 2%
Russia - 16-Feb-2011 RR: 15%
Austria - 18-Feb-2011 RR: 17%
Partysane (10754 D(B))

MM, really? I would have drawn with England, France and Germany if they had managed to get their shit together. But the player who pissed me of the most were you. With your fucking nmrs, not readying up and sheer incompetence. All I wanted to do was kill you. The win was a bonus because the others fucked up. But you were pre anoyance.
