There's a reason I have my stats categorized in that spreadsheet in my profile. But I haven't updated that for my most recent 2-3 games. :-)

I believe gunboat and public press are, like world and ancient med, greatly reduced in their GR affect. I wish all live games were also treated that way as it is a very different game from longer phase games.

Ah, I didn't know that. But still, you have the problem of my only having played *maybe* 10 full press, non live games. No system would have enough data points to accurately rank me.

True... Very true...

The good thing about GR is you will rarely rank higher than your actual skill, because it takes wins (or draws against higher ranked opponents) to move up the ladder. And if you are winning or drawing against the higher ranked, then you are under rated. If you draw against people significantly below you, you can still lose points.

Well I am pretty consistently moving up. But I almost think that we're adding players faster than I can move up. :-P

Solution is to binge on about 15 live games at the end of the month and win two thirds of them. =)

Yeah... Or I could do things like... I don't know. Work. ;-)

Draug, I actually only have 5 completed non-live games.

I've been taking a small break from web diplomacy while I've been road tripping across the US, so if this is starting after I return home, I'd love to be in either type of game. I'd prefer a 24hr game.

I haven't got to battle against Eden since the DCL league back in October, so a rematch now would be enjoyable.

Heh. I have my tourney coming up in two months, and since there's always an inconsiderate asshole or five in the bunch, I'm expecting massive amounts of my time to be wasted again this year. That makes it very difficult for me to play and tourney direct at the same time. Gonna have to pass this time, Eden, but I'd definately like a game sometime.

Sweet. After seeing what Geo's dealing with in the summer tourney, it may still be in round one when mine starts, I'm considering making it GR based in the hopes of getting a more reliable group.

UPDATE:

I am in the process of setting up the actual games. Each player -- those who responded via forum and via PM -- will be receiving a PM clarifying the parameters for the game for which I have the player assigned, and asking for a bet range. Once I have received the bet ranges from all the players in an assigned game, I will create the game according to those parameters and send out another PM with the gameID, password, and a list of the other players in the game. I expect the games to start in a week's time (give or take a day or two). Thanks for your cooperation!

I'm pretty sure I got all the phase length preferences written down, but in the PM clarifying game parameters, if you find that you are assigned to a game with a different phase length from the one you requested, notify me when you tell me your bet range so I can make sure you're in the right game.
