I would never accuse them of cheating. However, have you ever seen a Turkish fleet behind Italy's lines in the BALTIC, StP (nc) Nth and Channel?? I would love to see that happen for real.

I sent my concerns to [email protected] and nothing was done!! I'm not letting those cheaters get away with it. So I posted it.

Sun Tzu, in my country you would have to fill out a grievance form in such a case and nothing would get done about it by authorities until you handed them a large denomination note as supplementary paperwork. At least the mods on this site do their job, albeit a little slowly.

The best thing to do if you haven't had a response to an email is PM a mod

if that is a multi, he is one of the most inept cheaters there is... and its a couple of meta-gamers, then they are dysfunctional at best...

TGM, perhaps you could set up an auto-reply on the mod email so people know it's arrived in the inbox? That could also say useful things like 'even though you emailed the mods, *still* don't post on the forum' and 'PM a mod if you get really antsy'

First, you made an accustion on the forum. This is specifically against forum conventions and as an experienced player you should know this.

Secondly, your accusation was in the form of a thread with the accused players actually named in the title of the thead. That's paricularly bad, especially if it turns out that you are wrong, and that these players have done nothing wrong. You will then have slandered them publicly in a very insulting way.

I'm not getting involved in the cheater row but how many of us would have stabbed Italy in spring 912 for 6 easy SCs nd set up a solo?

Once upon a time there was a game in which two players were thought to be cheating. The remaining punters agreed to combine to first stop and then remove said cheats. Required plan involved front line punters to take the major risks. Plan was followed up to a point until the cheats had been neutered but not removed and front line hero significantly exposed. Then, one punter who had been protected from all of the action took the unilateral decision to stab the hero. The remaining punters claimed foul and tried so hard to argue him off of his course. The was to no avail and, although a new kind of heroic defence was mounted, said Unilateral Man prospered.

End result? Sour taste, very sour, and a sacred agreement to never play with Unilateral Man again, ever. This agreement being reached by some very well-respected players on the site.

This was back in the day when there were no mods and the Kestas man was only rarely obtainable by e-mail.

The real sin in the game was that where players had agreed to suspend normal play in order to deal with observed cheating, one member of the alliance was prepared to sign up and take advantage. The cry of 'Game on!' as the treachery was enacted still resonates. The resultant win was very much a product of the original cheating, albeit obliquely.

The moral? Well, what goes around comes around would appear to be the case here.

Sacred agreement still in place. Sense of schadenfreude running high right now.

Patience, Sun Tzu. Keep in mind that when cheating accusations are emailed to the mods, not only do they have to seriously consider and investigate the allegations made upon the accuses players, but also they must investigate further to see if the accused might have any other more subtle accounts set up. I imagine it can be quite a time consuming process. Thanks to the mods for the work that they do.
