why should it terminate your account ninjapirate? all it does is if you are doing awful in a game and are going on vacation (which is the case here for me), it allows you to Civil Disorder quickly for the sake of the others in the game so they don't have to wait two turns of over 24 hour phases for you to CD in game play, thus the gameplay continues at the same pace rather than being slowed since you aren't there

Take it from someone who has been losing A LOT lately: Never ever ever go CD if you want to keep your reputation, not to mention your self-respect. If you are going on vacation, ask for a pause and you'll likely get it. If you have a single unit on the board, you still have a chance. Quitting only makes everyone else angry and you look like a bitch.

I'd rather have a CD button than have to wait two turns for the CD. But no CD's is better than that. Unfortunately, we'll always have CD's, so a CD button is a great idea.

yeah, quitting makes you look bad, but knowing you'll not be able to and keeping everyone from being able to do anything for days while they wait for you to CD makes them just as mad, so it's essentially lose lose

Usually, when I'm about to die, I try to make the process go by more quickly. Suicide is a viable option.

You guys are not thinking this all the way through. If you have a command or button that allows you to drop out of a game, you end up with people joining a bunch of games and dropping out of the games they are doing poorly in. This just encourages CDing to a massive extent.

Maybe a CD button wouldn't be so bad if it dropped you out of every game you were in, not just a single game. And kept you from joining any games for a week.

Why not go out and get a 'stand by' to take over your position for the duration of your vacation. A standby can be arranged by you directly and they can log into your account send messages to everyone that they are the person in charge for this game and carry on as best they can.
This way the game still has an active person, there is no CD, you still carry the burden of the point loss but are boosted by doing the right thing to keep the game going when you cannot do it.
You might even advertise here for a stand by.

All this crap is the reason I've been encouraging friends to join, and I plan to spend as much time in private games as possible, frankly.
