It really hurts the flow of the game. Other sites have a 'surrender' button, but I find that people hit that button at the first signs of adversity.

I still think that CDs should cause some repercussions. People below 100 points CD on purpose because they get their points back.

Agreed. Maybe it's because I'm a new member and playing in low-pot games, or perhaps just unlucky.. but every single game I've played has seen multiple nations CD. Even worse, it's been the singlest biggest determiner of success/power in every game I've played. (If one nation's enemies give up early on then it has a clear advantage that ruins the balance of power).

At the very least, cd stats should be kept and taken into consideration when setting up the leagues. We've got some chronic cd'ers "participating". It would be a good idea to keep them out.

mapleleaf, it is difficult to tell when a player is a chronic CDer because if they are defeated before the end of the game, it doesn't show up on the stats.

There is a list I am keeping of players who have dropped out of leagues without warning me, and they have action taken against them in the leagues:

1. They are suspended for the next season.
2. After a second CD, they are banned from the leagues.

Anyone on this list will not be allowed in the Masters tournament either.

The criterion for entering TheMasters will be based on Ghost-rating, completed games and time on the site.

There will be a time since sign-up cut off of 3-4 months
A games played cut off of 10-20
And then the best Ghost-rating of the applicants remaining

ok, i usually dont like asking questions about terms as i can usually find them out after seeing them awhile...but ive been on a ton of forums for some time and i still cant figure out what 'bump' or bumping a thread or whatever means.

It pops the thread up to the top of the board, making it more visible. The thread is moved up the board, and thus 'bumped'.

This forum makes bumping especially fun.

so what, people post 'bump' when they want it to be moved up but have nothing to say?

Yes, to increase visibility for their topics.

I think a surrender button would be good... sometimes you just do so badly you want the game wiped of your list!!!!
