04 Mar 10 UTC Spring, 2006: [Kenya]:Hey, now I'm screwed. =p
04 Mar 10 UTC Spring, 2006: [China]:of course, we could just ask someone to take over for Argentina...
04 Mar 10 UTC Spring, 2006: [Kenya]:I made a post on the forum. =p
10 Mar 10 UTC Autumn, 2006: [China]:hey, I'm going to be leaving the country in a few days (for two weeks), and seeing as how I'm a semi-major player (ie, not on the brink of elimination) it would be great if we could start a pausing procedure or some other solution. Thanks for your patience!
10 Mar 10 UTC Autumn, 2006: [USA]:I'm fine with pausing. I also vote draw, I think you guys should too. WINK WINK NUDGE NUDGE. Ahem. Yeah, it is a good idea, so do it.
10 Mar 10 UTC Autumn, 2006: [Pacific-Russia]:I too think that drawing the game would be great. One year ago.
10 Mar 10 UTC Autumn, 2006: [USA]:Well everyone knows Europe, Libya, Ghana and I are clearly going to win. You other guys have no chance and you best choice is to draw instead of prolonging the inevitable.

But in all seriousness, really, drawing is a good idea.
10 Mar 10 UTC Spring, 2007: [Europe]:lol
10 Mar 10 UTC Spring, 2007: [Frozen-Antarctica]:Hey China, what day exactlt are you going?Just so everybody knows when to pause.
10 Mar 10 UTC Spring, 2007: [USA]:9 more people need to vote Pause (and Draw).
12 Mar 10 UTC Spring, 2007: [China]:Just to let all know, I am leaving on this coming friday. I've recently learned that my hotel (may) have WiFi, but I'll let y'all know about my access to it when I get there.
12 Mar 10 UTC Autumn, 2007: [Quebec]:Guys, I'm sorry, I didn't see the pause request until now....

And I don't really think we should have pauses in these games. Didn't we discuss this earlier on? Maybe it was another World game.

Anyway, my point is that with so many people pausing is simply not practical - we'll never be able to restart as someone else will need to travel for the weekend or has something else next week, etc. And why should his or her request be less important.

I don't want to be an ass about this, but expecting so many people to pause and unpause is not going to work, so I suggest getting a sitter and not finalizing earlier - with 2 day phases it should be possible to organize something.

This is the 4th game I'm joining on this map, pauses have been requested on all of those, and everywhere the decision was that pauses should not be generally considered as 'the rule' and everyone should try to organize something for himself instead of asking 16 other people to pause.

Once again, sorry if I'm being too uptight on this. If I see China hasn't surfaced by tomorrow I'll pause.
12 Mar 10 UTC Autumn, 2007: [Europe]:Well at least Russia will benefit, as will Near East and Antartica if China misses another turn
12 Mar 10 UTC Autumn, 2007: [Near-East]:Or we could draw. The major powers are all about the same size except for Kenya and FA, and they'd get more points. It doesn't really matter to me, after all the bet was only 5. We're all just exploring here, right?
12 Mar 10 UTC Autumn, 2007: [China]:I'm certainly not playing to win, although missing last phase was annoying. I'm leaving tomorrow afternoon, and I'd be perfectly happy to find a sitter, although there doesn't appear to be much time.
13 Mar 10 UTC Autumn, 2007: [Frozen-Antarctica]:I am open to the idea of drawing. This variant wasn't all I expected it to be.
13 Mar 10 UTC Autumn, 2007: [Kenya]:Yeah, I think 17 people is a bit too much. =p I'm totally fine with drawing as well.
13 Mar 10 UTC Autumn, 2007: [China]:well there seems to be a large consensus for a draw, so I'll throw in my vote as well.
13 Mar 10 UTC Autumn, 2007: [Europe]:libya????
14 Mar 10 UTC Autumn, 2007: [Quebec]:What happened, why are we drawing? I expected we'd at least take out the 1-center powers before that? Sorry to be so mean... but is there any reason to draw before that? :)

Hey, this is supposed to be a brutal game of intrigue... not gardening! :)

Antarctica, you have 17 centers, attack someone ffs, you cannot possibly lose, when are you going to have so much units again. Same goes for Kenya. Play people, what happened?
14 Mar 10 UTC Autumn, 2007: [Europe]:well i honestly think there should be no draw- not to be mean but simple 6 or 7 sc powers such as Quebec and Argentina can easily be wiped out- so go ahead and do it!
14 Mar 10 UTC Autumn, 2007: [Frozen-Antarctica]:Let no man/woman speak ill of gardening!
14 Mar 10 UTC Autumn, 2007: [Libya]:This was an exploration game for me. Draw, don't draw, I have absolutely no say in it at this moment (no SCs!).
14 Mar 10 UTC Autumn, 2007: [Europe]:lol- well start Gardening in Canada;)
14 Mar 10 UTC Autumn, 2007: [Frozen-Antarctica]:I can't attack Quebec, we have an alliance to split Western Canada.
14 Mar 10 UTC Autumn, 2007: [Europe]:well.... surely you could work with Western Canada than Quebec?
Or else continue ur alliance with Kenya til the end
14 Mar 10 UTC Autumn, 2007: [Europe]:lol Libya!!! come play a live game
15 Mar 10 UTC Autumn, 2007: [Kenya]:But 18 units gives me a headache! =( I don't even like playing close to winning/drawing end games on the classic map. xD But I'll keep going if everyone else wants to.
16 Mar 10 UTC Spring, 2008: [USA]:Let's do a draw!
18 Mar 10 UTC Spring, 2008: [Near-East]:It looks like mostly everyone's abandoned the game...are we all holding for a turn?
18 Mar 10 UTC Spring, 2008: [Near-East]:Okay soooooo I'll hold for a turn too.
18 Mar 10 UTC Spring, 2008: [Quebec]:Ok, what happened to everyone?
19 Mar 10 UTC Spring, 2008: [Kenya]:Haha, sorry. =p
20 Mar 10 UTC Autumn, 2008: [Europe]:maybe there are multis if that many people missing turns at the same time lol... except russia and quebec who moved lol
21 Mar 10 UTC Autumn, 2008: [USA]:Hey, I specifically entered hold for my move, but having only one center makes that understandable.
21 Mar 10 UTC Autumn, 2008: [Kenya]:Yes, we are obviously all multis...
21 Mar 10 UTC Autumn, 2008: [Quebec]:Anything you say can and will be used... :)
21 Mar 10 UTC Autumn, 2008: [USA]:If we are multis, we must be multis of Russia and Quebec....
21 Mar 10 UTC Autumn, 2008: [Near-East]:I entered hold on purpose because I thought we were all abstaining?
24 Mar 10 UTC Autumn, 2008: [Europe]:not really, just that the ONE person playing NE, USA and KENYA might have had no internet access on the day in question?
That this many of you would miss the EXACT same turn smells off to me.
Lets see if anyone missed the same turns if i play the game start to this point via the map....

back soon
24 Mar 10 UTC Autumn, 2008: [Quebec]:Europe, this is quite far fetched :)
24 Mar 10 UTC Autumn, 2008: [Frozen-Antarctica]:If we were multis then A: The mods would have caught us by now because of the sheer number in this game and B: Kenya would have been eaten by me a long time ago or visa versa. Besides, all the accounts playing this game are reasonable old right?
24 Mar 10 UTC Autumn, 2008: [USA]:I have not missed a turn, however I had had a turn or two where I simply ordered my one unit left to hold. If I had missed a turn, it would have said so below next to my name and it did not.
12 Apr 10 UTC Autumn, 2011: [USA]:Well, I tried. Good luck to the rest of you.
14 Apr 10 UTC Autumn, 2011: [Quebec]:Sorry for taking you out. You did try, well done. Better luck for the future.
16 Apr 10 UTC [Frozen-Antarctica]:draw time!
16 Apr 10 UTC [Quebec]:Only RUS remaining.
16 Apr 10 UTC [Quebec]:Good game all.
16 Apr 10 UTC [Frozen-Antarctica]:indeed good game.
16 Apr 10 UTC [Kenya]:Good game. =]
