Thule bug?
I convoyed an army to Thule so I wouldn't have to make a double convoy to NWT, and now any time I try to move or convoy the army my Chrome page has an error and I have to reload. Fortunately I don't need the army, but it's an annoying bug because I'd like to try this move in a bigger game but don't want to risk the error. Anyone else encountered this? Here's the game:

Ah, Mr. Jefferson, Where HAVE You Gone...Tax Atheists For Not Going To Church? HA!
http://clergygonewild.com/cults/53-other-cults/1670-christian-leader-wants-to-tax-atheists-for-not-going-to-church
Surely everyone here can agree this is simply ludicrous? Even if you're a believer...well, by that logic, what do you do with Muslims and practicing Jews? Tax them for attending Temple or Mosque instead of Church? What DID ever happen to our American belief in a Separation of Church and State?

USS Iowa (BB-61) vs. IJN Yamato
To commemorate the Iowa's recent opening as a museum ship (and the official end of the battleship as a weapon of naval warfare), who do you think would win between a head-to-head, one-on-one match-up between the USS Iowa (or any Iowa-class) and the Yamato?

Happy America Day!
Today we celebrate our independence. Don't forget what that means when today is gone, though. Good tidings to all you fellow Americans on literally the greatest day in all of Earth's history. And don't any of you British forget what today is all about either!

Pet Adoption.
So we're looking at adopting another cat this weekend (that will bring us to 2 cats). Has anyone else found that some of the rescue for either cats or dogs have some ridiculous questions. Like where you work and the phones numbers. Your DL number and if they can come into your home and look around. I kid you not actual question off of some of the applications.

Pet adoption is serious business to the animal lovers. They ask because if you have something to hide, they won't adopt to you. If you say "sure come on in" they usually leave it at that.

We had the doxie rescue bring several prospective dachshunds into our home to see how they'd get along with our dog and let Sebastian pick his new brother or sister by seeing who he played with and got along with. I'd rather they seem intrusive then just let anyone adopt as it could be someone posing as prospective parents who plan to do testing or research or it could just be someone who shouldn't have a pet or kids. I wish we could keep some people from having kids as well, but at least we can make certain they don't get animals to abuse.

Ok I can understand it for a dog, but we wanna adopt a lil kitten. I wouldn't mind it so much but some of the question/demands are like omg. One place won't let you adopt just 1 kitten , you have to adopt in pairs.

Kittens are abused too. And cats are best in two, although if you already have one that's not too old, they might make an exception. But if it is an older cat, the pair of kittens is wise so the cat doesn't get pissed off at the kitten always wanting to play. It's why we adopted an 18 month olf dog, not a puppy. Sebie was 6 and a half and a puppy, like a kitten, would have harrased him to no end.

See we're not sure how old our cat is since she was found as a stray. We think she's about 4 years old since there's no real way to tell the exact age of a cat. Since she's been an only cat for so long a kitten actually does better. A female cat will adapt better to a younger female then an older cat.

I understand that cats get abused too. I just don't think they need to know so much personal info. I understand stuff about the apartment and if we can have cats but not really the work related stuff and home inspection stuff.

I should say we'll get a kitty even if they have to come into the house and check it out. We have nothing to hide just think it's excessive. Oh and we are going to a no-kill rescue.
We got a second kitten with an adult cat. She absolutely ran the roost. She was my cat and Sebastian was my wife's cat. It was the best thing we did for him I think.

That's what we're hoping. We've done a bunch of reading into this. Female is better then male and younger is better then older. Also, my husband has never had a kitten before and this is his first time choosing a cat. I'm really excited to be doing this with him.

@celticfox -- my business consultant double Princeton educated brother and sister in law got turned down for a single cat adoption in suburban Chicago, hilarious ... I have 2 mutt-pound dogs, 2 rescued stray cats and 2 blub-blubbing fish and we were just dying cracking up on our end ... too much
Celticfox (100 D(B))

How the hell were they denied??? And do you know which adoption place they went to since I live in Suburban Chicago?

Hell I wouldn't want any pets to live in the damn suburbs either. Hellholes.

I love being in the suburbs... the city is to damn expensive.
The kitten literally picked me. She was in a pen scrambling around with about eight other ones, at a friend's pet store. I walked in and said "Okay. which one of you is coming home with me?". She stopped playing and sat up. Looked me straight in the eye and was in the car heading home ten minutes later.

@Celticfox - they were in Bucktown at the time I think (now in Wilmette and they have found another older cat to take in) ... it was a snooty-snootster neo-urban hipster adoption place that wanted to know how they would "govern" the cat ... I still laugh about it ... I mean, you get into Princeton and UChicago business school and they won't let you have a damn stray cat, just hilarious
Celticfox (100 D(B))

Oh yes I've read the application form to some of those places, especially in Barrington area. Either way I'll have a new kitten on Saturday.. hopefully.
Rancher (1652 D(S))

you will, just take one in your pocket when they aren't looking .... "dime a dozen" as they say (and i am not just being an ass, I really am a pet and cat and dog lover .... there are just so many out there, I could take in a stray cat a month even in suburban Columbus if I wanted to)
Celticfox (100 D(B))
10 Jul 12 UTC
Oh I'll be tempted to. We're going to head to one place to look, but there's another 2 to go check if we need to.

The hipsterish hipster shelter in the world is still much better than any breeder or puppy mill (I'm looking at you, Petland). Got my Peke from Franklin County. Best decision ever.

"Oh and we are going to a no-kill rescue."

Shouldn't you go to a kill rescue to prevent one from being killed?
Celticfox (100 D(B))
10 Jul 12 UTC
The first place I think we're going to go is a family run no kill shelter that I've heard tons of good things about from co-workers and customers. I'd never wanna buy a cat.. that's just silly.

A question about Diplomacy (not Jesus)........sorry to be boring
If a game has a 24-hour phase and everybody makes their Spring moves and Readys up in 5 minutes how long do you have to wait before it moves to the next phase?
Even in 24 hour games if everybody is Ready in 5 minutes would you not want the game to progress straight away.?
I know that the Retreat and Build phase work this way but not sure about the Diplomacy phases.
