Simple question--

If you weren't doing or majoring in whatever it is your profession or major is now, what wold you have chosen? What was that 2nd Road that seemed so tantalizing, maybe...but you took Road #1 instead, (bonus points for--why?) :)

Dudlajz Gunboat Invitational

Over the last couple of weeks I have the impression that the level of live gunboat games has dropped quite steeply. On the other hand I really enjoyed a couple of longer term gunboats featuring some of the very good players from this site like Lando, Split, MichiganMan, or (my favorite :-)) Trodonte and others. I would therefore like to set up a distinguished gunboat - something between 24-36 hours/phase, 200-400 entrance fee, WTA. I prefer to know who a play with so that I would make a non anon registration. The game as such would be of course anon. The participants are not limited to those mentioned above. Feel free to write if you are interested.

Hi Dudlajz, I'd be interested in playing. I'd prefer 36 hr (but generally ready within 12 to 24) and anything in the point range 200-400 is ok with me.

I'd like to get in on this. I've got my form back after playing many gunboats recently and I'm looking to add another one. Because many of my points are tied up at the moment I'd prefer no more than 100-150 pts and I also prefer my gunboats move quickly. To me there's no reason a gunboat turn should be longer than 24 hrs unless someone specifies a problem on a particular day.

Well, I can´t commit on 24hrs phase as I have some problems on weekends. What about we set the game with 36hrs and everybody agree to finalize as soon as possible?

Best Webdip Chess Player?

I think it would be interesting to find out who the best chess player on webdip is and see if there is any correlation between that and their GR. Though they would likely be very good at tactics, I know a lot of people who are good at chess and socially awkward, which I would think would make them less likely to be able to effectively negotiate.

What are your thoughts? Would anyone be interested in setting up some type of chess tournament?

There is no strategy for Austria

When Turkey, Italy and Russia attack you there is no strategy to survive. I would even say that if two of the three attack you and there is no third person who tries to ally with you, you just die. Does anyone have a successful history with Austria? its my least favorite starting point because there is basically no hope for a win
