Zero centers, but you get part of the draw??
In game ID=66470, Austria and Turkey agreed to defeat France and split a two-way WTA draw. Well , we took over France and pressed "draw". POOF, game over, but FRANCE gets 1/3 of the draw.

Huh? How can you get part of the draw with zero centers????

New game: WTA - 50 points - classical - full press - anonymous
Hey everyone,
So I opened a new game and named it after a diplomat who -at an intellectual level- appeals to me (not passing any judgments on the man's politics, it's his way of arriving at a conclusion that I like)

Public School's monopoly hurts American
The monopoly that public schools have on secondary education is one of the major problems that is doing damage to American society today. Public schools not exist for teachers and administrators instead of for students.

Conspiracy theory.
Well, im paranoid, and im wondering what we do if the mods are multi accounting. And we all know they have multiple accounts to aid in spying, investigating, and all the other mod business that is in the grey area. We cant report it to the mods, but we can find out those accounts and not let them use them for such. And im just talking hypothetical here, not making any real accusations (for those of you fond of clue, im not to the point of making an accusation yet) ;)

Question: How did this not happen
How did the move to the Balkans not happen. Support was not cut. It wasn't held. It should have worked.

Hey guys, thought I'd create a thread for anyone to offer their thoughts.
For my part, I think my play as France highlights the importance of sticking with a game even if things look really tough - I was fighting off 3 countries for the first half of the game but still came out on top. To get such a stiff competition situation was great fun! Thanks for the interesting game all and I look forward to no. 13.

Great game all around, I had tons of fun in that one. The reason I am posting is twofold. First, if anyone has an EOG comments this is a good venue to share them. Second, and more importantly, I am looking for a new big pot gunboat to replace this one. Who's in?

It was a fun one. I'll comment about my short life span later tonight. I don't think I will commit to another one at the moment though. I often play high pot gunboats though, so in the future, feel free to give me a shout out when you start them. Well played Lando, ucclabb and Victorious.

I'm in for a new big pot gunboat. I'd prefer 25 hr phases and a 250+ pot.
At this point I think I need 36 hours in order to be sure I won't NMR. Especially in a big pot, if that is OK with you. Hopefully we can get a commitment to finalize from the crowd. And I'm sure I can figure out a way to do 25 hrs if need be.

gg all. lando, i was surprised that you didn't jump on the lets-kill-england bandwagon after i built those two fleets in 01. i guess that's why germany should always build an army, to avoid just that stalemate with E, but it was still fun to experiment with.

i'd be up for another any time -- not currently in any games :(
I was going to but I didn't really have the opportunities you did and I figured in that scenario you would have probably just kept moving west. What I noticed was an opening in Italy and an England who would be pre-occupied with Germany, so I went south. And It worked.

Anyway, for the new game we have:
1.Lando
2. uclabb
3. Frank
4. jmeyersd

Very strong start from Austria. At 1902, i was fearing the France-German invasion, so i was very relieved France turned away in 1903. Was i a bit to aggressive in 1901?

In 1904, i was very disapointed about the Russian disband. I hoped, with my passive agressive aproach and the way i leave Moscow at rest, he would have understand i would stop and let him to fight Austria. So Austria got an even greater opportunity to grow

I am also impressed by the amount of trust France showed me in 1906-1908, letting me sit in the Channel. I also could not understand the reason Italy moved from sevastapol to Moscow, giving Austria the possibility to get to Turkey behind his back in 1907.

In 1908, i took Brest to keep France in check and to prevent him from building new fleets over there. That moment, i had to chose for running to sweep France from behind, or focussing on getting Germany out for a 3 way draw. Because Germany kept his 2 fleet intact, and the weak position of Italy, i decided the risk of a sweep from a fast growing Austria was to big, and because France would be back in force to fast, the decision was to continue to press on Germany.

I got screwed on the first turn. Why on earth Russia opened Sev to Rum? I ended having the Bls and was with no other choice then moving after Russia. After that I got my three neighbours after me, even when it´s clear Austria will get the most, and even when France start to take Italy´s home centers he keep fighting me instead of moving back home. So, I was the first to go, but was a bit more happy to see that Italy and Russia were also vanished from the map.....

And great game from uclabb, Lando and Victorious.
Anymore for a another game?

@rd: your didn't have to attack me in fall '01. I would have had armies in Rum and Gal if you didn't. Imho, Russia is a death sentence in gunboats, so my mindset going in was to make sure that any country that attacks or blocks me in '01 pays the ultimate price. In this case, Ger blocked Swe and you attacked Rum...and neither of you survived. Goal accomplished.

@ Victorious: Sorry I didn't disband the unit you wanted after you took one of my centers <sarcasm>.

Finally, why does no one ever even try to befriend Russia?

@rd: I was trying to trick Ger into letting me take Swe, but I fooled the wrong person. You live and learn I guess.

@ trip, you had every right not to do so. But your ods would be much better if you did. Could you tell me the reasoning behind the decision?

I was just a feeling, but I thought that a solo was more likely to happen if you and France dominated the board, with one stabbing the other at the end, then from a single dominant country, Aut in this case.
Bump for rematch?

yeah i want a big pot gunboat as soon as possible

@trip - I really want to befriend Russia, as usually Russia and Turkey didn´t go well in gunboats. But with a fleet on Rum that can´t harm Austria and Sev open for a second fleet build I didn´t have much of a choice....

I have to be honest... I didn't think I played particularly well in this one... It was just kinda handed to me.
