A suggestion

the time zone where a player is playing from should be in their profile so that you know this when you are trying to talk to someone. we have to say initially when we sign up anyway.

My first thoughts...

Alright, so over the course of the negotiations, I've been thinking. I've decided that I have great evidence regarding metagaming going on between the Mods. Yes, that's right. I have evidence of Kestas and Figlesquidge metagaming.

So mods, listen up. If you don't want me to disclose your ring of corruption to the general public, I demand a one time gift of 50,000 diplomacy points in my account by noon EST, tomorrow.

@Thucydides: 4chan is not your personal army.
@ Bearnstein: To put it bluntly, your hopes of receiving any points are zero. If the ring is true (I highly doubt it) your post will be deleted just as soon as it's up. If it's false they have nothing to fear from you.

'Proof' does not constitute the same people working together multiple times in multiple games - they could just like eachothers style of play and style of diplomacy.

a better way whould have been to say he was metagaming with one of the mods and he would reveal which one if he didnt get 50,000 ds and on that note i have been metagaming with one of the mods and if i don't get 50,000 ds by 18:00 gmt i will reveal which one :p

2. Bearnstein, this site belongs to kestas, and we are all only able to play on it at his discretion. This means that he can basically do what he likes. If kestas wants to gift himself 1,000,000

, then he could do that and you'd just have to live with it.

lol yeah this is a bit like the zoo isn't it.

yeah, and that's the saddest part. he wants all those points so badly, but doesn't seem to realize two things:

1) no one cares that much about points to begin with and
2) flooding 50,000

into people pockets when he bets it all and loses would further devalue the points because of the rapid inflation

I think the mods need a good consigliere to help them deal with guys like these. While the mods continue to be "patient and unbiased" like figle is, the consigliere could make these morons "an offer they can't refuse."

I don't understand the whole concept of metagaming or cheating on a site like this. I mean, if we were playing for money...I understand that. Or, by winning on this site you got famous or won trips or...something. This is just a bunch of us geeks getting together to have a good time. Reading posts like this makes me want to stay away from the forum all together.

I teach high school, so I know all about the character of some of today's youth. This person/group is probably just out of high school, probably either all in low paying jobs and/or going to a community college together. Or still in high school. They've all been told all their life that they are special and should get a trophy for just showing up. Common. Sad, but common.

Exactly.
This sort of issue comes up every few months (on this scale), and gets closed down.
There are a number of reformed former multi-accounters amongst the respected community. We do our best not to force anyone away from a great game. However, if they're going to act like this we can't do anything else. Just a little maturity and things become so much easier.
